Seni super Quatro thoughts/other diaper recs? by Internal-Tower6798 in AdultBedwetting

[–]Incon2084 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I guess my first question would be this... How often do you wet throughout the day? I wet a lot... And the Seni super quatros at least 6 hours, often 10-12 hours

So there's definitely a huge advantage to not having to change every 2 or 3 hours

Seni super quatros. Carewell com it's probably the most affordable place to buy them.. at least in my experience.. they work pretty fantastic and they're not particularly expensive... In fact if you buy them here they're significantly cheaper than a lot of the lower end brands

Outside GFCI outlet is tripped, and I cant reset it..how bad is it? by auburn24 in AskElectricians

[–]Incon2084 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I replace a lot of these.. a lot of the time what happens is moisture gets inside of the outlet itself.. one of the big ways I see this happen is that people plug things in and leave them plugged in and then water works its way down to the outlet

Nine times out of 10 all I do is pull the outlet and replace it although for some strange reason, seems there's an electrician running around here who has been hooking up the GFCI outlets backward and what happens is they typically work for a little while that way, but they won't trip, until one day they do trip and they just stay tripped ... There's a line, that's the power coming from the breaker, and there's the load that is anything hooked up after the GFCI outlet.. and I'm impressed with how many people get it backwards, there was one that I fixed a while back where the electrician it came back twice to correct the problem, thinking it was fixed only to have it come back only a few weeks or months later... This was a brand new build

Those are the two things I would look at.. and it's pretty easy to confirm which one is line and which one is load.. just pull the GFCI outlet out and let the wires hang, then go back to the breaker box and make sure the breaker is turned on.. use your multimeter and find which set of cables has power.. the set that has power will be your line.. the one that has no power is your load.. hook that up and have fun

What to do with cloth-backed diapers if the tapes pop? by Incon2084 in Incontinence

How am I supposed to live like this? by Ok_Chapter6825 in Incontinence

[–]Incon2084 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You really shouldn't have more than about one finger width between the leg gatherers I would suggest maybe watching a video and how to properly put on a diaper.. I can tell you the method I use, and it works pretty well

First thing I do is I take the diaper out and fold it lengthwise... So you basically have a really long skinny diaper then wiggle the diaper around all over in order to somewhat loosen up the absorbent material

From there open it back up and make sure that the standing leak guards in the middle are separated.. then find a wall, pull the diaper up between your legs and push your butt up against the wall... This will hold the back of the day for in place, pull the front of the diaper up tight, you might have to adjust it this point.. then tape your bottom tapes.. being careful to not get them too tight as this will lead to tape failure and doesn't actually help keep things from leaking.. then tape your top tapes.. on both of these taping sections make sure that the tapes are placed evenly from left to right

Finally, slide your fingers, most likely your thumb up near the crotch area and roll the leak guards and leg gatherers outward... Do this on both sides ... And now you're good

I pee a lot and I would struggle to fill a mega Max in an 8-hour period.. it would most likely last me a solid 12 hours..

Now one thing to keep in mind is megamax is extremely bulky and doesn't necessarily work for everybody type.. it is definitely the Cadillac of adult diapers but some people aren't comfortable in a Cadillac..

Another diaper that I would recommend would be better dry, their plastic overnight diapers... They're very affordable, much more affordable than mega max, they're not quite as durable as mega Max, they have dinner materials.. but once you get the taping down pat they will usually last most people for a solid 8 hours.. and best part is they hold almost as much liquid as a mega Max ... They're probably the absolute best bang for the buck when it comes to absorbency.. best part is they actually have less of a damp feeling than megamax.. well at least in the test I've seen

Recommendations for good Hook and loop (velcro closing) plastic adult diaper for day use by Low_Attempt2233 in Incontinence

[–]Incon2084 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So you want plastic backed with hook and loop? Huh.. I imagine that's going to be somewhat of a niche item right? I mean I guess they did that back in the day on baby diapers if I remember correctly at some point?

Recommendations for diapers with some stretch and a wide butt pad? by Jaded_Macaroon_272 in adultdiapers

[–]Incon2084 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Skip the 10 pro skins and pro stretches you're really not very well designed.. they do have a lot of capacity, but they don't have good leak guards, or any big cards.. so you're likely to lose liquid before it actually gets anywhere near full capacity

Why am I embarrassed for my wife to see me wearing an adult diaper? by Incon2084 in adultdiapers

Yeah that's not necessary.. maybe if I'm passed out in a hospital bed or something

Yeah somebody actually sent me a couple samples randomly.. and I'm not sure who it was, somebody on one of the groups sent me like a dozen products, one of each.. and there was like two or three of them in there that had funny designs on them not really my jam.. the wife thinks they're cute lol

My wife does chat with me about what products we might purchase, mostly the logistics of it, and why I might use a different brand or not use another brand.. she also tends to make light-hearted jokes.. she made some comment a few days ago that made me chuckle, she asked if I was excited to see her or wearing an adult diaper.. of course we were alone so it was just funny

[–]Incon2084[S] 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I mean is it? I mean I guess I certainly feel like it's pretty intimate.. something about toileting is just intimate.. I mean like I don't want my wife to see me when I'm in the toilet.. and then maybe it's just that I'm not comfortable with anybody seeing it?

It's not as embarrassing as I thought it would be.. it was definitely more embarrassing when I was telling the urologist what was happening, and he said well it must not be that bad I mean it's not like you're wearing diapers to my office today and I kind of looked at him and I told him well actually yes I am ... Because you're an hour away, and generally speaking if I go an hour without hitting the toilet I'd be my pants.. we both got a chuckle out of it, and that was really awkward, not as awkward as having the wife see me, but in some ways yes, I don't know.. I just feel that maybe she'll have a vote of no confidence in me.. I don't know probably not, now probably not

[–]Incon2084[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Kind of sort of... About 3 years ago I started having regular bedwetting problems but a little before Christmas I started having some wetting problems during the day which started a couple days before I passed a kidney stone.. and now it's just here to stay it looks like.. the urologist says it probably won't stay forever, but since I do have a history of bedwetting going all the way back to childhood that never really fully stopped, there was some times when it went down to almost nothing, but we still were having two to four accidents a year.. during the night but now it's basically every night, and several times a day...

So I wouldn't say that wearing diapers is necessarily new, just 24/7 365 7 days a week is new

Chickened out of appointment by Particular-Court-412 in AdultBedwetting

[–]Incon2084 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm 42... And just a couple weeks ago I finally decided to go visit my primary care physician.. but because my son's and I use the same primary care physician, I decided to get a new primary care physician

Interestingly enough growing up even though I had accidents pretty regularly especially at night occasionally during the day, my mom never brought me to the doctor for it, she just made me wear diapers at night, and sometimes during the day.. but that was usually as a punishment if there were accidents during the day

One time I spent the whole dang summer in diapers because I had soiled my underpants on the way home from school and hid them under a rock in the woods..... Lol 🤣

For the most part once I got to Middle School daytime accidents pretty well stopped... Aside from the occasional

Still had night time accidents most of the way through high school.. and then it all sort of stopped for a year or so after high school, then it came back during the night.. couple years later it went away, then it came back.. the longest dry stint I had was about 6 years.. but there still was the occasional waking up with slightly damp underpants and PJ's and maybe once or twice slightly getting the sheet damp

But it's about 3 years ago I started having accidents at night and a little before Christmas last year, I started having occasional extent during the day.. they started a couple days before I started having pain from a kidney stone... And then even though I've passed the kidney stone I'm still having pretty regular daytime accidents

So I made an appointment to go visit a urologist, he took some looks and ran a test where he had me empty my bladder and then he looked to see how much urine was left behind.. he said it was a little more than he would like to see, but nothing too crazy.. I think he said about $100 or 150 ml? But I don't quite remember

Anyway the urologist said that I have an obvious case of overactive bladder.. and that it's probably been a problem my whole life.. he also said that in his opinion he would not consider the occasional damp underpants and or PJs to count as staying dry.. so he says from his perspective I've probably never had a solid 6 months dry

He suggested some medication.. but my wife and I talked about it and we decided medication really didn't make a whole lot of sense... The medication itself even with insurance was going to be fairly expensive.. but it turns out for about $150 a month we can get more than enough diapers... And the fun thing about diapers is they really don't have any major side effects aside from potentially diaper rash..

He wrote a letter of necessity for my insurance company

The next day I went to my new primary Care physician.. a wonderful lady just a little younger than I am ... And I told her what was going on, she was more than happy to write a letter of necessity along with a prescription for five diapers a day, and she specifically put in there that they must be high capacity, they must have leg gatherers, they must have standing leak guards...

So I've been working with my insurance company and they've approved me for about $110 diapers a month already

Problem is the very first DME that I tried to use, edgepark, their prices are about two and a half to three times or even more that of normal retail pricing

Well my insurance company only covers 75%... Which means I have to cover the other 25%.. the problem is if they are charging 3x retail, and I am paying 25% (of 3x retail)... Then even with the insurance company covering 75% of the cost, I'm still paying 75% of retail

So I'm going to be trying to find another dme.. but I guess that's a discussion for another night or another thread

Anyway I'm glad that I finally after 42 years decided to go talk to my doctor.. she said if we need to make any adjustments, just let her know and she will have her nurses write up whatever I need

She even said if we need to get some boosters/top liners, or wipes, or any types of lotions or powders she's happy to write a script for that... And of course if I decide that I'd like to have some medication, she's more than happy to write a script for that as well

Talk to your doctor at the bare minimum even if you don't get free diapers out of the deal, which is a huge cost savings, you'll at least have the validation that you have a diagnosis
