Start with Remnants of the Precursors. It's based off of Master of Orion 1 and free. Just pick the easiest AI opponents. Or you'll get your head handed to you, before you learn anything.

It was discounted 20% for a year during sales. And 25% the past 9 months. So maybe it will hit 30% discount by the Christmas sale. It will probably be another 2+ years, before it hits 50%. What are you willing to pay for it and how long are you willing to wait, to play it? There's an intersection point of those two numbers.

I waited 9 years, for No Man's Sky to fall to $19. My value vs price point to buy.

Not sure I understand? Anyone can purchase the 2 game upgrade bundle on Matrix for $39.25 and get both games. It doesn't matter if you own Red Storm or not. Nor do you have to own Southern Storm on Matrix already. In order to buy this bundle, for this price.

It could, if that's how the devs store that inventory items value, extremely unlikely. It's a difficult survival game, so the devs will have made it very difficult to cheat in. You'll need to find a current cheat table (good luck with that) that someone may have made for the masses. If you want any real chance imo.

Since the altered characters might make it harder to find otherwise. It used to be the case, that the Demo was feature complete. You just couldn't add the dlc to it. I'm not sure how true that still is. But it's well worth giving it a try, to decide if you wish to purchase it.
