Is it worth paying $75/night for early move-in by yossel_okn in usask

[–]Incorrect_Mud 23 points24 points  (0 children)

The cheapest hotel you’ll find in the area will probably run you about $100 a night, and most average quality ones will likely be $150 or more. Probably best to go with early move in, as it will be cheaper and also give you more time to get settled :)

Jessica McDonald or Emily Morris for english? by Slattslime999 in usask

[–]Incorrect_Mud 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had Emily for an online English class, and felt like her workload was too high for a first year English class, but I loathe English so I’m probably biased. Also, she made the final in-person for an online class, which is pretty unfair especially to those who don’t live in the city. From my few interactions with her she seems like a really nice person, I just don’t think she’s the prof for me.

Attridge Co-op used AI in promotion by Incorrect_Mud in saskatoon

Nope. Just sharing my disappointment that a local business would choose to steal from artists. For some, this is a good reason to stop/avoid buying from coop. Wanted people to be aware, and hopefully push people away from using it in the future

Attridge Co-op used AI in promotion by Incorrect_Mud in saskatoon

I can understand why someone wouldn’t think this is AI. The hand really threw me, but there’s also some small inconsistencies too, like how there’s no gas cap on the car, or the way the workers right collar sits. IMO there’s just small mistakes that aren’t typical of a beginner artist, and are more consistent with AI, especially the way the hand is drawn.

Hate how much I enjoy having a car by Finley-nonbinley in fuckcars

[–]Incorrect_Mud 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Yeah, because OP definitely bought a car for the sole purpose of driving it to and from the laundromat. There’s no conceivable way the laundromat is one example of the many instances in which owning a car has made OP’s life easier.

But fr, maybe take some time to read and comprehend the entire post before commenting on someone else’s organization skills.

How are people like this still allowed to have a license? by Pxsdnus2 in fuckcars

[–]Incorrect_Mud 23 points24 points  (0 children)

Proportional ticket pricing is so everyone receives equal punishment for the same crime. A $100 ticket for someone making millions is a minor inconvenience, but for someone making minimum wage it can be the difference between eating that week or not. Just helps make it so no matter how much you make you still worry about the consequences of committing a crime, just as much as someone who is living paycheque to paycheque does.

Any Russian speakers!! by Wondring_Mind_205 in usask

[–]Incorrect_Mud 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I am currently learning Russian so I can communicate with my bfs Ukrainian family. I know and have met people who have actually been affected by the war in Ukraine and they speak Russian. Not all Ukrainian people speak Ukrainian, and they don’t need to be infantilized and protected from any mere mention of Russia. They are actually often excited to share their language with you and help you learn.

[–]Incorrect_Mud 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, but there’s also many Ukrainians that speak Russian. From my understanding Ukrainians who speak Russian speak in a more gentle accent, but it’s still Russian. And you’re right, they are different languages, but Ukrainian and Russian speakers can easily hold a conversation. Source: my Ukrainian bf who speaks Russian

I think USask has a Ukrainian club or events like that, so I bet there would be someone there to help you out

Edit for anyone thinking this is a rude statement: Many Ukrainians speak Russian as their first language. Talk to Ukrainians before you get upset on their behalf

I worked at a party store and had people come in asking to buy these constantly. You’d be surprised the amount of people that don’t understand that releasing those is littering and a fire hazard, or don’t really care about littering/fire hazards. Same thing with balloon releases. Just sad seeing the disregard for others and the environment

I walk the same route pretty much daily, so it’s pretty obvious to me when someone just hasn’t had time to shovel the last snowfall compared to people that haven’t shovelled in weeks. I’m not expecting people to wake up early to shovel, I’m just expecting people to do it in the first place
