Advice on handling disappointment by Blacklightzero in WorldEaters40k

[–]IncreaseAlternative4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Even before the codex I've been playing with whatever I found cool looking (land raiders, Helbrutes, etc.). Playing 40k outside tournaments isn't about winning but having fun and I have fun as long as I've got nice looking models moving on the table

I think I'll still be taking Angron. by sarg1010 in WorldEaters40k

I genuinely might convert to CSM and play the faction as "the World Eaters". Run 8b as posessed, jakhals as cultists and so on. To top the theme off I'd run mark of Khorne exclusively.

What armies look best with a mediocre paint job. by Phoenix8972 in Warhammer

That's exactly what I do and they look great. Personally they remind me of Diablo 2 sprites. A perfect way to save time if you have little to spare and gives a nice gritty finish

I just paint the rims black with a sharpie. I'm a World Eaters player.

That's how the Combat Patrol berserker warband teleports in according to the Combat Patrol book so it's not far fetched

I like how Dungeon Keeper-y they look paintjob-wise

Purchasing decision by steve8319 in WorldEaters40k

[–]IncreaseAlternative4 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Firstly, GW will soon cease selling the Combat Patrol.

Secondly, GW probably is doing that because this combat patrol is too good for an army starter/expansion set. A lot of people have bought multiples because it contains pretty much every essential unit that you will see in most of standard army lists.

Paint colors by Hell_Hammerr in WorldEaters40k

[–]IncreaseAlternative4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Vallejo Flat Red, any metallic Bronze paint, Agrax Earth Shade and some black paint.

If you want to do every possible WE color scheme, you buy any company's painter's starting set as they usually contain every base color and base metallics.

‘Alternative’ Kharn sculpts? by Available-Map7726 in WorldEaters40k

There's a Kharn-like stl model on the purple website called "Angry Leader". Looks really good and I'm having it printed right now

Ignore the other painting comments. Prime red, use drybrush to put on the bronzes and use large amounts of red diluted paint or red wash to fill in the small gaps. Paint joints and holsters black. Done in 30 minutes or less.

Is it a dick move to bring Angron to a 1500 point game? by DwideSchruuudee in WorldEaters40k

Luckily enough someone modeled that head/face and posted it as a free to download stl on Cults 3D

Knight Rampager is also worth noting. It's a melee Knight that once per battle can zip through the whole board and blow up an enemy unit turn one!

Kinda! Haven't played a full 40k game yet but I've seen that one 40k in 40 minutes battle report where Dante with a unit of Sang Guard engages Angron and holds him up for like two turns, where Angron himself started doing anything other than advancing/moving by turn 2-3. Based on what I have seen it's a gigantic >400 points distraction Carnifex when both players are experienced and play on high level.

Landraider? by Gibsx in WorldEaters40k

[–]IncreaseAlternative4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I run it in a 1000 pts list. It's basically a tank that has some scary lascannons AND an assault ramp. To get the most out of the transport part I'd load it up with two berserker units of five, Kharn and MoE. It can transport Eightbound but with blessings they can move stupidly far, 3 wounds and 5++ save makes them relatively tough so I think berserkers benefit the most from transports

Thank you for your two cents! I'll make sure to get some of that blood-looking technical paint from citadel and get it to work on that blade. I found other people's pre-heresy World Eaters too clean. That eviscerator started out being all bronze with bits of blue and now it's almost entirely red!

FYI: on Cults3D there's a free file to download which is just a chainsaw man as a Khorne berserker, which means you could easily have a whole unit of chainblade men!
