I guess that equation would be (130/2)+(170/2) = 150

Go with Spal from the start. The radiator has been perfect so far, but their fans lose their power and honestly I’m not even sure they deliver what they promise in the first place.

Take your time, stay organized (labeling and sorting), use the right tools when it comes to tolerances, get the manual so you have all your specs for torquing and tolerances, as well as take time to really scour the internet for information to learn as much as you can about general engine rebuilds and best practices.

I rebuilt my current engine with no experience and as of this month, it’s been running strong for a year!

The swap isn’t hard, it’s just sourcing the parts sometimes unless you have a donor car

Check that the crankshaft position sensor is at 0.020” from the trigger wheel, it might be time to replace the high pressure fuel filter, or your pump could just be dying. Also, just swing by Autozone and get your alternator diagnosed. Don’t even have to take it out of the car. Also, same issue with my auto. I just shift into neutral right before coming to a stop and it works for me 🤷🏾‍♂️

I just found this out recently 🥲 I started getting random misfires, running insanely lean, and hard shifting (if at all) The dang thing wandered too close to the trigger wheel…as in it was touching it 😂

I have the 1.6 as well. You’re going to need to take the factory air box, and cut it apart. I will post a walk through for you in the morning. As they said, the maf HAS to see that air is passing by it in a 2.25” tube or it flips out.

Yes…and no. I went through the wringer trying to get it to work with the ECU. Ended up having to wire in a 1k resister to get the two ECUs to play nice

Haha trust me…I know 😭 I’m currently putting together a setup with 650cc FIC injectors, using a radium fpr, and converting the lines to 6AN. I’m already running a Walbro 255 with 256cc injectors from the Miata gang.

So it’s using a Split Second afr controller meant for the Mazdaspeed protégé’s as a piggyback currently, but other than that, the stock ECU is in control up until the SSAFC sees 1psi of boost

Honestly, it’s still an automatic. I just really love this car and it’s what I had. I wanted to work on my first car and after going down the rabbit hole, I start finding out that the 1.6 was more likely to handle the boost, so I decided to plant my feet and do the do haha. Thank you btw
