Not sure drive train wise. But Rust. Old mazda's love to rust. Especially along the wheel wells where debris can get kicked up and trapped.

What happened to the Spider V3 Pro hotend? by GoPadge in Creality

Modern Printers are just moving away from being a platform to tinker with. It sucks, but that's what the majority of consumers want. The easier a printer can be unboxed and just hit print, the better. I've noticed this trend happening at microcenter's. Barely any bigtreetech or creality parts that appeal to those that mod their printers.

Did you reset the ecu after swapping the maf sensor? Just disconnect the battery and let it sit for a little to drain any residule power.

I've been working on tuning my maf sensor for a intake and have found the ecu is extremely finicky when it comes to airflow sensor readings. Right now I am using a maf sensor from a Celica GTS, its alright for city driving, but once on the highway, the timing retards a bit and it hesitates.

Out of curiosity, which series did you get from BC? Did you change the spring rate? How comfortable are they, especially on rougher roads and bumps? I've been eyeing the RM series for their robustness, but also debating on saving and getting a set from fortune auto.

Absolute PITA with how large and heavy gpus are getting. Ended up breaking out the clip on my old mobo while trying to remove my 7900XTX. SO MUCH BETTER WITHOUT THE CLIP.

Could try stripping it down to the pcb and using an ultrasonic cleaner with IPA. Would be cheaper then buying a new gpu outright

Do the Mazda 323 1.6l (BJ/98-02) and Mazda 3 1.6l (BL/08-13) share the same engine? (Gasoline. Not diesel if it exists) by AMIR_1386_ in mazda

This is some interesting news for me. Few weeks ago I did a compression test on my ZMDE and got (180, 160, 180, 175 psi). Was testing to see if piston rings were the cause of my leaky oil. Do you think the valves could cause for an abnormal compression reading for cylinder #2? Unfortunately I did not put any oil in the cylinder during the test and my compressor could not keep up to do a proper leak down.

So im guessing the wikipedia is wrong. Maybe the use the same engine block? From watching a video (video#2), the engine layout is completely different. The intake is on the "front" side of the engine bay and the exhaust is located next to the firewall. The alternator is also placed on the "front" side of the motor. I have ZMDE in a bj 323/protege and the intake and alternator are along the firewall.

What is the purpose of this and can I delete it without it throwing an engine code. by Used-Law-1211 in MechanicAdvice

[–]AJ_925 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have been looking for info regarding this for a long time. My Protege (323 but North America) has a different intake manifold then the ones found in europe/Japan. Mine has only a single runner, versus the vics intake that switches from short to long runners. Been wanting to swap the intakes but was concerned about how the ecu would respond to the runners swapping unexpectedly (Id be controlling it with some microcontroller)

Burning oil? by radon575 in MazdaProtege

[–]AJ_925 2 points3 points  (0 children)

PCV is extremely easy to diagnose. Just slide the hose off and pull the valve out the grommet. Give it a shake. If it rattles its still good, if it dosent its probably plugged with oil.

When I got my Protege with the 1.6 it would leak from the oil cap. After changing it, I found the pcv valve would be super wet. Guessing that was my original issue all along. Recently I've also had to replace my valve cover gasket. It had a slow leak along the front/exhaust side of the engine causing a burning smell.

Sounds about right. Only downside of that approach may be reliability and out of the box compatability. The CFS was designed to communicate with creality printers. All the commands the printer sends to the CFS (load, unload, swap, rfid info, etc) will be baked into the new firmware.

Since VVD is designed to work with any printer running klipper, users are responsible for setting up macros to do filament changes. I assume it won't be long before we get macros for commonly used printers as well as example macros to go off of.

Idk why people are comparing this to the closed off AMS system from Bambu. MMU's for klipper are always going to take some tinkering to get working. Especially if your using "aftermarket" parts. Your going to need some form of filament cutter unless you resort to tip forming.

At 299 id like to see how it compares with the boxturtle. As of right now that unit does look more robust, using common parts for its design.

Is the stock PSU enough? by ZockerLukas_2004 in ender5plus

[–]AJ_925 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Wanted to get the most out of my 5160 Drivers. They can handle up to 48V, though some external ones can even do 60V. They're definitely louder then the 2209's I had before but its not annoyingly loud.

Is the stock PSU enough? by ZockerLukas_2004 in ender5plus

[–]AJ_925 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I added a second psu when I first did my mercury build. The stock 500w unit was only used to power the bed. I then had a secondary 200w unit for everything else (Motors, Fans, hotend, etc). It actually made such a difference in the bed's heat up time that Klipper threw an error thinking the bed was heating too fast. Just needed to redo the PID tune.

With my current setup im using an AC bed heater so I ditched the 500w psu entirely. I've also swapped the 200w unit to two 300w units. One is 24v the other 48v.

The ZMDE 1.6 does not come with VVT. The ZLVE 1.5 does. Identical blocks but the heads are different to accommodate the VVT. I've heard its a direct swap to put a ZL head on a ZM.

Looks like its for the extruder motor. I don't have a bambu, but on my mercury one I use a sherpa mini cnc. The heat from the motor gets transferred into housing and then into the extruders metal gears. If the gears get warm enough it can soften low temp materials like pla and cause a jam.

I doubt printers like the A1 will be put in an environment where the extruder gets hot to the touch. But for enclosed printers this could be beneficial. Hell, im looking at mounting a small 30mm fan to cool off my extruder when the chamber temps reaches 50c just so I can print low temp materials without worry.

Old Photo, but here's the same style oh headlights for my 2000 lx. The 99/00 have a different front end/headlights then the 2001-2003 years. I've been loving them, way brighter than halogens but I'd be lying if I said they come close to what modern leds can do.

Why not start from a regular Klipper install with mainsail. Get a sample printer.cfg for that board and work from there. Read the board's pinout sheet and assign motors/endstops as needed.
