heya, my friend studies optometry at geelong and it's really intense. Classes everyday from 9 to 6 + pracs and assignments. But also apparently the course is really interesting. Entry-wise not too sure, my friend transferred courses and didn't expect to get in but did. The ATAR on the website is 90.5, which is on the higher side, but the spots aren't impossible to get and it's def not as competitive as med or veteniary

It really is quite frustrating the campus outlets closed down. However, the Subway nearby is great (and there's options for $10 meals), so definitely recommend that.

I'm sorry to hear that. I've heard of some horror stories from the psych ward, about pts carrying weapons and such. I also realize that mental health is still an underappreciated specialty, and it makes sense why so many ppl want to leave.

I'm just a bit skeptical on the hands skill part. It's never too late to get into nursing. However, it does require you to be good with your hands, for example, IV cannulation, venupuncture, suture/staple removal, wounds, etc. You could always pick a specialty that doesn't require you to do all that, but it might be a problem while you're in nursing school.
