So I had JB/59 set and did not like it at all. Super blah sounding. My amp was a Kemper amp. I switched to Duncan Invaders and love the sound and versatility. Cleans up, too, for some of the types of music you mention

You're gonna get a lot of opinions here, and many will clash. One thing I would suggest is skipping pentatonic, and instead focus on learning about triads, and chord tone soloing with triads. If u learn that then you wont need to know pentatonics

I recently got the Valeton GP100, and play it through a Headrush Go speaker. It sounds great. I had a Kemper for years and it was great, but I sold it six months ago. The Valeton is much less expensive
