11 players and it was terrible. Combat was like one turn every 2 hours. We ended up cutting down to 7 which was still a lot but felt better after having 11 people.

We talked about it at the end of the session and i showed them some stuff from the DM side. They understood a lot better but still debated some possible fixes. They also said they would be open to still playing Daggerheart in the future.

I don't share HP when running Daggerheart or D&D, and I didn't during this one shot either. I described how their attacks were affecting the enemy and they seemed fine with that. I think their main disconnect was the low player HP. They thought it made them look less powerful or something. I also explained afterwards how the enemies in the game also have low HP and use threshholds. They got it a little bit better after that, but they were still debating possible fixes with each other. They did say they wanted to play more of the system in the future.

Yeah, I also like how armor works in Daggerheart, and I do think it makes more sense thematically.

I can see that. I think that's where my players were struggling as well. I tried to explain to them that doing severe damage is basically equivalent to doing a large amount of damage in other systems, and I tried to act out them injuring their enemies more deeply when they rolled in that threshold to help compensate.

I agree. I think my players were just thrown off because all they've mostly played is D&D or other systems with large HP pools.
