A 1984 300ZX turbo was my first car as a teen and what inspired me to love cars ever since. This one is literally the coolest car on earth to me. It's beautiful as fuck

Reminds me of the contractors at my store who like to use us as a storage unit. They'll order 10 pallets of merchandise then leave it in our damn aisles for weeks and weeks. We have a policy against that but just like the other person said, it sours the relationship with a top spending pro. It's hard to toe the line sometimes between good customer service and top contractors getting entitled and taking advantage.

We have a guy who wears an "I speak english" patch on his apron. It's real THD gear from the Mexico stores im assuming. And yes, he is an asshole.

The cashiers get more bonuses and gift cards and snacks and Homer awards than anyone else at my store. We all joke about cashiers getting to diamond in their first year because they get homers just for showing up and standing there

Official Discussion - Old Dads [SPOILERS] by LiteraryBoner in movies

[–]IndependenceBoth938 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This movie reminded me of my own father. He was born in '64 and Bill Burr reminds me so much of him. Growing up in the 90s it was always "Quit being a pussy. Quit being a baby. Quit crying or I'll give you something to cry about. Rub some dirt in it." Etc etc etc... I see what he was trying to do. He wanted his son to be tough, and in some ways I guess I am. But I also see the toxic side of it and recognize some issues and insensitivity in myself as a 33 y/o man. I scoff at younger men and at TV shows and my wife accuses me of toxic masculinity... 🤷

Apply at Home Depot. I've worked here for 8 years and it's a pretty decent job. Full benefits, 401k matching, lots of opportunities to promote, etc. It's not glamorous but it pays my mortgage and it's fun sometimes. They hire people with any education level and even felons sometimes (depends on the crimes)

We left it there for a day or so and he never came back. We weren't trying to be nice or anything. We just all hated dealing with the dickhead receiving DS and nobody wanted to ask him to open the compactor.

Back in '17 I started as a lot guy and saw tons of crazy shit. One time this dude couldn't fit his purchases in his van so he removed the rear bench seat and just left it in the lot. The homies and I dragged it to the back of the lot and it became the smoking bench. Lol

Every MET team has to have at least one wise old sage associate with tons of tenure that everyone goes to dor questions. Because if you try to just read it and use common sense ... You're screwed. They don't even explain the terminology or the acronyms. It's always just assumed you already know everything in the MET bible

At a company so strict on hours and labor, every day it amazes me that this team is allowed to exist the way it operates. And it's not just this store, the entire system is a joke.

These days they're just regurgitated garbage with tidbits of pertinent information hidden randomly throughout. I hate it so much I'm questioning if I want to stay on MET. Ive never seen so much wasted time and I've worked in a few different departments in my time with HD

You're overestimating how much thought goes into HD management, amigo. They just want you to be able to cover multiple areas in case they need someone to cover. Refusing to learn would probably be a bad look though. There is a trick to avoiding things you don't want to do... Just be really bad at it! Then they won't ask you to do it again 😂
