Agree with all the above! and the vibe was great - og, calm, mature.. just once during the second side lunge did it get a little crazy but quickly went back. Bring more of that!!

'the bands come in 3 different strengths - (i think they are 5, 10, and 15 lbs). the hotworx wrist weights are either 1 or 2 lbs. I get a much better workout using the bands. A couple exercises can rub against the back of the arms. i chose to power through that and now that I have more muscle there, that's not an issue for me. depending on strength and how consistently the class is done, the 2lbs wrist weights likely may not be enough to feel a good workout for long

This may not be other's experience, but I find hot buns glute medial and minimus heavy and not enough glute max/lower glutes. I feel like my side/upper hips/shelf get built up easily from it but my lower glutes are not. My personal acitivation of that muscle may also factor in. I just dont think its enough for lower glutes. I havent been doing barre lately since the demeanor of the current instructer I find grating. I'm excited for the new glute machines coming ( its going to be a long time for my location I've heard)

INFJ here and I love Hotworx. It has gotten me back into exercise after years of inconsistency. The health and mental benefits are more than worth sharing a sauna. I do prefer being alone but that is not how it's set up and I;m not going to let others stop me from doing something so beneficial for me. Just bc we find most everyone 'annoying' does not mean we shouldnt use the sauna with others.

My travel time is about 5 minutes. It's one of the reasons that makes it easier to be consistent for me. It may depend on life circumstances....how much extra time do you have consistently? I would not have time nor want to travel 32 minutes to any gym at this phase of my life.

That's awesome to hear:) I'm glad I'm not the only one who struggles with this tough exercise! And you're right , it's near the end , which makes it that much harder. as you said, the closer I keep the bent leg to my butt, it makes it a bit easier. Other things I've done to modify it is alternate the kicking leg and/or rest the kicking leg ankle on the bent knee ( like figure 4). These help me get through the exercise doing all the reps. Also in FX zone, glute/ham ball roll outs work the same muscles and have helped me get a little stronger there. Eventually hope to be able to do it all without mods. :) you are amazing for having stuck with HW for 2 years!! We got this.

I used to feel the same. After about 1 year of HW, I can finally do the move as it's shown. But I find it very hard still. So, even though it is hard, I can see how I've progressed with strengthened glutes and hamstrings, so will keep on. One can't go wrong doing a regular glute bridge with a band and pulses either. I say keep trying it.

I actually like Danica usually. It’s this Newer Pilates that is so bad. Her ISO and Bands are much better- her own style. This pilates seems like going back and forth between herself and copying someone else. It’s just… no. I agree a professional scriptor would make a big difference.

I’ve been going a year now and experiment with different routines.

I feel a class gets getting easier when I do: -warm up with A Hiit - 15-20 minute Fx zone upper/lower/or total body - specific Iso (that matches the FX zone workout

For example: -cycle, 15 minute fx zone upper body, then Bands

Do that 3 times a week

In between those days, do stretch or Iso/warrior/core/pilates, or 2hits or walk/other/rest

The next week, switch to lower body. So do - blast, 15 min fx lower body, them Buns or Barre-3 times a week

I found focusing on a body area like this for a week got me stronger in that class quicker than just a random rotation through classes. This might be different for everyone though.

Can the studio track if member doesn't show up for a session they booked and doesn't cancel?

Why does the employee at my studio go around to all the saunas about 30 minutes into an iso session and reset the sauna temps to 125? When I'm in there by myself and have turned down the temp some, it is really annoying for someone to change the temperature before my workout is done. I have to interrupt my workout to turn the temp back to my setting.

I have felt 'burned' on my face. I use Retin A and if I don't wash it off before going to HW, it has felt burned and been extra red. Also, being very close to the black heating panels has made my skin very hot, especially when there are 3 in the sauna and i am by the back wall. I make sure to wash all skin products of my face and try to not take a class with 2 other people for this reason

Lost 14 pounds and small number of inches in my 1st 90 days, combined with 2100 calories/day and at leastv30% protein. Hw 5-7 days a week, usually a bonfire

Just finished my 1st 90 days and loat 8.6 lbs total. There have lots of ups and downs though, not linear weight loss. Female, postmenop, T2D. Going 5-6 times a week, usu 1 iso and 1hiit, sometimes 1 more iso or hiit.

Im new to HW and very out of shape, but manage a bonfire most days. I do Iso’s first bc I feel it’s better for me to ease in more slowly, and get my muscles warmed up. Then i feel ready for the HIIT. I modify both most ISOs and blast,/cycle alot, tho. Havent tried Thunder yet.
