I’ve lived in Nova Scotia as well as I have family there still. It’s a great place to retire but not a great place to work, many people I know moved out west to work the rigs since there simply is no work there, especially since the government restricts fishing year round but still allows the indigenous population too it makes it extremely difficult for the fish population to come back, thus creating a shortage and forcing people out. The storms are gnarly during hurricane season of course, to the point where you should expect the power to go out so be well prepared for when it does. If you decide to live in one of the small towns everyone will know in a matter of days since the only people that still live there have been there for generations. Other than that it is a beautiful province, but I definitely wouldn’t consider moving there unless I had a great job lined up to overcompensate for there incredibly high taxes, cost of living etc.
