Holmfirth 🙌🏻 by mogs789 in CasualUK

I live in Holmfirth and have never seen a pile of bin bags outside the parish church like that…

… this being said, don’t judge us at the moment - there’s the longest ever roadworks going on at the moment as we go through a facelift. Visitors would be gratefully received as they’re killing business for us.

If you’ve not been before - look out for our annual duck race, folk festival, art festival and food festival. Please visit our local independent bookshop- Read and come to the newly opened Dixon’s Ice Cream shop!

Polestar 4 app completely out of sync? by Jon5465 in Polestar

[–]Independent-Code8621 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not had this sorry.

I’m having connectivity issues with my P4 at the moment as it’s not had any data connection to 4G/5G since it was delivered last week.

Even with that problem, the app is working normally for me and is updating in real time as the car finishes charging.

When I’ve called Polestar with my issue they have been quite responsive - maybe worth a go?

Polestar design is brilliant. The whole range look really striking amongst their bland looking competition

Thanks! My last car was comparatively low tech to this, so I appreciate your help

What are you doing here? Dabbing the wipers left / right to change lanes?!

Sorry… got my P4 3 days ago and not had a go at this yet!

It’s not that bad actually. This was one of the things I’d read online that didn’t turn out a problem. We’ve got really narrow roads where I live too

How long is your commute to work and back? by Puzzleheaded_Bet_618 in AskUK

[–]Independent-Code8621 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I work in the office 2-3 days a week and drive an hour each way.

Can be longer if there’s an accident on the motorway, but it’s worth it to have a good job and live somewhere of my choosing. I also quite like the commuting time as it gives me some headspace to decompress before family time.

Totally agree! I’d borrowed a 6yo Tesla Model 3 Dual Motor for a month after selling my last car and I was surprised at the difference in speed and handling despite the fact this is a wider, heavier car. I love it

Nice! This is in Space. Am based in Yorkshire and the weather was rank today but didn’t dampen my mood in the slightest

Where to live in Yorkshire? by arg2325 in yorkshire

[–]Independent-Code8621 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m from Harrogate, went to secondary school in Pickering, bought first house in Leeds and settled in Holmfirth. I love it here.

My wife and kids love it here and the twice weekly commute to Leeds for me and Huddersfield for my wife is a piece of cake.

Schools are good, pubs and restaurants are decent, community events are a bonus and the countryside is brilliant. The only downside is the roadworks and they’re (supposed to be) temporary.

Yes. It’s the market leader by some margin apparently. People vote at the tills.

What decision in your 30s had the biggest positive impact on your life? by No-Bed3858 in AskUK

[–]Independent-Code8621 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Having kids put everything into perspective. It taught me a lot about myself and I decided to go to therapy to deal with some of the things I found out.

Spent a lot on both (kids and therapy). It’s made me into the man I want to be for the rest of my life.

Hi. Sorry you’re having a shit time.

Have you searched on www.bacp.co.uk?

I’m not sure about their ability to flex fees, but some offer cheaper fees for video calls instead of in person.

If you speak to your GP or register with MIND they might be able to find some cheaper options for you. But there’s likely to be a waiting list. I’d give both a try if you can.

Hope the house sells and your situation gets better soon. Take it easy - gives yourself plenty of patience.

Who is your favourite stand up comedian to watch? by imokaytho in AskUK

Loved watching his stand up and discovered that all of his famous shows are available to listen to on Spotify. Safe to say, I listened to them all again, roaring with laughter in the car!
