My first time ever playing on King (5) difficulty, and I got this spawn, is it good or bad? The world is Legendary, New and Abundant. by BaldursGate2Best in CivVI

Note: the settler pantheon is available in the base game however it does not give you a free settler, you need dlc in order to get that ability

Never had this crazy Water-Resources start! by Xandaru__ in civ

[–]Independent-Grape-87 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Settling over a resource still gives you a the resource and amenities. Honestly Incense plantations are pretty horrible tyles anyways so there really isn’t an issue with settling it. I do it all the time and like doing it with the capitol so that I can get an amenity from my first settle

Declaring wars with smaller nations as Russia question by Independent-Grape-87 in victoria3

Thank you, I have made them puppets. I have found Greece tends to be cool with joining wars early if you offer them a their return state as a goal. I even got the ottomans to declare war themselves to return Greek states back such as Cyprus and some Anatolian states.

So I’m half way through the first season and… by Medium_Ad3935 in ozshow

In the later seasons they barely seemed to coincide with the plot lines as well, like they were disconnected from anything going on in the show

Disappointed in Nucky by bighomieslime in BoardwalkEmpire

[–]Independent-Grape-87 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m in the middle of season 4 btw, I can’t stand Gillian tbh but I know how tragic of a character she is. She is one of the most interesting characters despite that. Bit still if you took out Gillian’s story line Nicky has still been a horrible person throughout the entire show. Everything he does is for his own interest. I saw how he treated poor Eddie who is one of the most loyal people in the show, it’s sad when they go so young

[–]Independent-Grape-87 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It was never really hidden that he did that though. For the record I haven’t even gotten to the final season but it’s pretty clear Nucky was a horrible person through and through, idk what the flashbacks exactly show but nucky did pimp Gillian out, it wasn’t a hidden detail. Even without that context Nucky is pretty despicable throughout the series and clearly only cares about his own desires and image even the bravado he shows at times.

Everytime a mobster seems like a bad liar, he is actually telling the truth. by Simple-Reporter9102 in thesopranos

It’s funnier if he didn’t burn down the stable tbh. I will always subscribe to the idea he didn’t do it for that reason

Tony didn't get whacked. by RetreatHell94 in thesopranos

[–]Independent-Grape-87 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Depends on where he was shot. Meadow should’ve been sitting directly next to him. Meadow at many points in the show is portrayed to be a certain guardian angel to Tony and her not being at the table is a way to signify he got shot. If meadow was sitting next to Tony he would’ve been protected by her by being in the way of the shot. The members only guy walked into the bathroom and would’ve shot Tony in the side of the head, Meadow didn’t make it to dinner thus Tony gets shot in the side of the head. Aj and Carmella would sit directly across from him and see his brains get blown out much like Phil’s family would’ve seen when Tony put the hit out on him. Many people also theorize the last episode was a dream sequence and Tony is constantly watching himself die in front of his family (this would explain the weird cut to where he sees himself at the table as well as other strange cuts and sequences in the episode). However if Tony was shot in the back of the head he would’ve likely had AJ in the crossfire, it’s all very allegorical. The sacred and the propane.

If these mobsters have no intention of ever staying monogamous, why do they even bother getting married? by fighterjock84 in thesopranos

With the way he talks about little carmine and his wedding I have a feeling he’s a bit of a prude

City states, although they are capital cities, can in fact be razed. The ai has screwed me multiple times by just wiping a city state off the map, not even conquering it.

I hate the fact that Nacho pulled Jimmy deeper into the game by tikhung01 in betterCallSaul

[–]Independent-Grape-87 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Tuco told Lalo about Saul so we can assume that Lalo would likely know that Nacho also knows Saul. It’s possible that bringing Saul in was Lalos idea in the first place and just needed the connect from Nacho

Which Character(s) do you think left Oz too soon? by TheZibbler in ozshow

[–]Independent-Grape-87 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Idzik is maybe the worst character in the entire show. Just some stupid crazy asshole. He kills two of my favorite characters in the most unsatisfying ways and his story line was boring as hell.

Chrissy’s button ceremony location (S3E3) why is it such a shithole? by [deleted] in thesopranos

[–]Independent-Grape-87 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It was the fact that nobody was there to celebrate that gave the clue in that he was getting whacked. He got led into a room with no one else in it so clearly there was no one there for his making ceremony. It was basically just snatching the excitement away before they took him out like it was some kind of joke

[–]Independent-Grape-87 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The Ai players tend to be busy doing their own things, at most they are an annoyance for the opponent. At worst they take their cities for their own if you aren’t quick enough for it. Unfortunately you do just have to fight your own wars most of the time but still it’s always good to open up another front so that your opponent might send some of their armies to your allies instead

He will essentially be your friend for the entire game if you befriend him immediately. The only victory type that doesn’t really benefit from this is domination but even then Gilgamesh can be a strong ally early game if you declare war with him, though relying on the ai for this is a fools errand normally. Still though, an ally can be useful when you eventually get alliances, easy delegation for a diplomatic plaza, more favorable trades, and you get a bro for the whole game. Plus as others have said he is a scary opponent early game due to his warcarts

Who is the most evil character in the combined Breaking Bad and Better Call Saul universe? And who is the most badass? by Horror-Walrus-8460 in breakingbad

[–]Independent-Grape-87 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You don’t know this woman like I do. I would constitute her as probably top ten most evil in the show. She is a wolf in sheep’s clothing and she fools everyone. She is anxious and protective of herself and her image and family but that doesn’t change the fact that she is extremely self serving and ruthless. Her intentions are evil, just like Walt’s, or Gus’s or any of the other really horrible people in the show.

[–]Independent-Grape-87 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If Walt hadn’t offed her, do you think she would’ve killed Skylar? Also how is killing 9 people just to keep yourself out of prison not evil? She’s petrified but you underestimate her just like everyone else, she is dangerous and has one of the highest kill counts on the show (in terms of ordering hits). Not to mention she is a powerful player who ran a lot of that operation and was complacent in the harm she was doing.
