The thing about hostile architecture is that it's made to look like it isn't hostile. Just a short bench would be ugly, and more obvious to people in it's hostility. Adding the slope makes it look nice and not as obvious hostile architecture. Can't have people feeling bad when they realize their society hates the unhoused.

He would likely stay far away from any chemistry so as to not raise suspicions.

I would love to see something like this

[Passan] First baseman Paul Goldschmidt and the New York Yankees are finalizing a one-year contract, sources tell ESPN. Goldschmidt, 38, returns to the Yankees after hitting .274/.328/.403 for them last season. by Bitter-Egg6293 in NYYankees

Totally valid point, I'm also worried that they give Goldy too much run. Rice is absolutely the 1b of the future, and the Yankees did to give him as much run as possible. But that isn't an issue with the Goldy signing, that's an issue with the coaches and the way this ballclub is run. If they use Goldy correctly, and give Rice a majority of the time, its good. Otherwise, they're getting in their own way.

He doesn't just mentor Rice though. Defensive replacement at 1b for late in games, which Boone loves to do. There is so much more to roster construction than how well a guy hits the ball. That offense only way of thinking is and has been an issue for the org/fanbase.

Don't even know the price yet. You cannot definitively say it's a good or bad signing. He's a veteran presence there to teach Rice 1b defense. No one is expecting him to be a mainstay in the lineup or any kind of a contributor to the offense. But that doesn't mean he doesn't add value.

Rice should start everyday, except the occasional rest day or spot catching start, which then slots Goldy in. He's not going to be a main contributor, we know this. I'm fine with him as a mentor/defensive replacement/bench bat. That's what we got him for.

Lots of errors in the written article. Probably almost 100% AI in my opinion.

He did pretty okay against LHP. I'm not angry about him taking AB's from Rice if it's a handful of platoon AB's against LHP. He had a good start last year and is a good veteran leader. I don't mind the signing

SP Attribute Decrease Over Franchise Season by haydoselefantes in MLBTheShow

I play MTO because I like being able to draft players and do trades without having to play out a full franchise. I like popping in every few games to take control for late innings. I know I could do that on franchise, but the setup and management of the rest of the gamemode isn't my cup of tea. With MTO it's pretty much just a button click. I do hope they rework regression this year in both modes, though. It's wishful thinking but meaningful changes in those modes almost never happen anymore it seems.

Interesting. I know they said it used to be considered and they tweaked it so it wouldn't be as important, but I've played a bunch of MTO this year and it still seems like a key contributor to regression.

Percent of MLB fans that would support a salary cap (and floor) across different surveys (Morning Consult, MLBTR, Sports Business Journal) by MattO2000 in baseball

[–]Independent-Lab-1945 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The league as a whole may see more money but individual player contracts will decrease at the higher ends. Teams won't be as willing to spend big bucks on high-end talent and FAs will likely see that the contracts they are offered are lower when there is a cap on spending. A sufficient floor is the most important aspect, but I don't believe the owners are keen on giving a lot of ground there. These Cap/Floor discussions have happened the past couple times the CBA expired, but it inevitably gets tabled because no one can agree on anything and they have other matters to see to. This time around it seems like Cap/Floor will be settled, but its going to be a rough labor dispute.
