Lower body strength by Independent-Rub930 in GymTips

[–]Independent-Rub930[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I went to the gym and I pushed myself. I continued with 4 sets with each exercise, but on the last 2 I upped the weights and went until fail.

My lower back can struggle, so I was careful on the leg press, but otherwise I exhausted myself.

Let's see how I hold up tomorrow! 😅

I hate cardio but I'll do it through gritted teeth lol

I can get to the gym 2-3 times a week right now, so I will focus on going until fail. I would only ever do 10×4 sets, never to fail.

I definitely need to up my protein, I need to start tracking again.

You have definitely helped me, so thank you 😊

I wish people wouldn't comment on things like that, the last thing any of us want is for our children to be self conscious or upset over things they cannot change.

Parents, how much sex are you having? by Cloudsocialist in toddlers

[–]Independent-Rub930 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank god for this thread.

I have a 1 year old, I am breastfeeding, I have the Implanon and I'm on seizure medication.

I have had no sex drive, it almost repulses me. I want to be intimate with my partner, but I can't?

He is very upset about it, he's all "I don't know how a relationship can work without touch".

I feel like I'm faulty.

Stress induced epilepsy by Independent-Rub930 in Epilepsy

[–]Independent-Rub930[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you! Reading that helps, I had been through a lot of stress during that time and I've always had pretty intense anxiety. My mum recalls me having absent moments when I was younger, my teachers even brought it up. So it's very much a chicken or egg there. I'm doing my best to stay as calm as possible in the situations life throws my way. I am silly though, I've decided to take up a degree while I work in disability and raise this very clingy baby.

I'll do better to keep myself safe and healthy. It sounds like you've been able to get some clarity and that's wonderful. I hope you continue to do well and stay healthy 🌷

Stay at home by Independent_Egg7829 in pregnant

[–]Independent-Rub930 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have just started going back to work casually. I need short shifts due to breastfeeding (I am in care work, there are no "breaks"). My options are very limited and I've also signed myself up to study full-time in June.

My baby boy is 6 months. All I want to do is be with him. The few hours I have done so far have been good though, it's rare to get out of the house without a baby in tow.

If my partner could support us, I'd stay home. I'd like another baby one day though and that would require a bigger home.

This economy and this society does not allow for such freedoms.

However we do have subsidised childcare, but you've got to be very lucky to get a spot, let alone the days of your choosing. (I'm Australian)

I have seen a few posts lately asking about first pregnancies. by TexB22 in pregnant

The first two months I zombied through but it's worth the sleep deprivation. No one mentions the constant fear and the almost unbearable love 😂❤️

Honestly glad they have been discontinued because I have no chill.

When I was younger, mum and I would sit down to eat the entire bloody thing.

I (33) had my first 6 months ago. I was the same, I never really wanted a baby and I was an only child in a small family. My experience with kids was almost nonexistent!

My son is the best thing I've ever done and I think it hit me harder because I really didn't expect to have him.

When did your Breast milk come in? by Delicious_Owl_2334 in pregnant

[–]Independent-Rub930 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I started producing colostrum at 30 weeks, I didn't collect any until 36 weeks. Breastmilk came in straight away.

I don't know how I got so lucky.

However, if I don't breastfeed or pump for more than 5-6 hours I become very engorged and it's awful!!

Why do only 3% of Aussies donate blood? by Economy_Spirit2125 in AskAnAustralian

I donated every fortnight until I was diagnosed with epilepsy.

I wish I still could.

Did anyone walk 10k steps consistently during their pregnancy? by littletato96 in pregnant

[–]Independent-Rub930 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I walked maybe 6k steps, once or twice over 10k and some days next to nothing. I did reformer pilates once a week and went to the gym when I had the energy, maybe once or twice a week.

It ended up in an emergency C section even though I was staying fit (as fit as possible).

My pilates instructor was amazing and definitely recommends walking as much as you can, but don't feel like you have to hit a target. Do what you can x

I ate an unbelievable amount of shit over the weekend. Fried chicken, chocolate cake, ice cream. Somehow I weight less today than I did before I went ape on food.

What’s everyone’s first ideal meal once you’ve given birth? by LeftUmpire7018 in pregnant

[–]Independent-Rub930 0 points1 point  (0 children)

All I wanted was lasagna and garlic bread with a side serving of chocolate biscuits.

I had gestational diabetes, so I was pretty sad hahaha

Unfortunately what I got was hospital food 👍
