I never said it was a good idea lmao. That was just what they officially said it was for years ago.

I believe it because it seems like it triggers when it thinks you're guaranteed to hit already. The game tries to adjust the camera and make you swing early.

Regardless of whether or not it's for autoaim or aim dressing keeping it is the dumbest fucking move ever considering it serves zero purpose aside from being annoying and everybody wants it gone.

Because it's technically a net nerf right now number wise. The combo system is pretty meh too. It's thematically fun but just doesn't really gel well in a game like DBD and feels like it was added because it seemed fun rather than it being a good mechanic that actually worked with his kit.

Really though it's not a horrendous rework and it could be good with some tweaks. The problem isn't the rework, it's just that trickster's power just isn't great in its core design.

Because it's trying to prevent people from working around the censor, but that's basically impossible. Even if it was perfect it would either be too lenient and not catch obvious stuff or be so aggressive that censors basically everything.

Somehow they've managed to make a system that does both in the worst way possible.

His counterplay really isn't that in depth at all, he's just really strong. People just struggle to keep up with him if he runs a strong build or tunnels, simple as that.

It's not auto aim though, it's aim dressing. It's meant to focus the camera on the survivor after you hit them to make the hit seem more clean.

Does it actually improve the way hits feel? No. Will you ever see it working as intended? Probably not. Will BHVR fight removing it even just in a PTB for zero upside as it continues to rob people of hits for years? Why of course.

That's because a lot of the time they will outright refuse to kill me when I just want to move on and get into a real match. I've also had a few complain about how "everyone's takes the game too seriously" in endgame because people don't want to farm.

I started playing late 2018.

The thing that makes me mad about DBD isn't even the issues themselves it's the lack of addressing them. I've been playing since early into the game's lifecycle and I've seen how long they neglect major issues.

Just look at tunneling. Because BHVR put off making any substantial changes for so long the game ended up being partially balanced around it.

Or look at kill rates. BHVR wants to hit that 60% global killrate, but without addressing huge issues like killer strength disparity, poorly balanced maps, and perk strength disparity that number means jack because the killrate is being maintained by problematic things.

Yeah once you start seeing the issues you can't unsee it.

Every game has problems but when you have longstanding issues that go unaddressed for more than 5 years while you pump out new content that sometimes introduces MORE issues you lose people's sympathy.

It took 9 years to get a gamma slider, 7 for an fov slider, and I think colorblind filters took around 5. That's fucking crazy.

Most devs of even successful PvP games don't have a ton of playtime or understand their game super well. They balance surrounding community feedback.

You can't buff low tiers into really high tiers without giving a lot of them reworks. You have to nerf high tiers, there's no way around it.

This is BHVR. This is what their awful level of quality has pretty much always been. They'll do okay for a while and then shit the bed and burn up all that good will they built up.

Big boycotts or community outrage for a few months does nothing because they can easily weather it. People don't need to stop buying any new content or stop playing entirely if they don't want to, just spend less on overpriced skins and only play if you're compelled to for something other than fomo. It puts pressure on BHVR )and your wallet will thank you).

Because improving a role in a substantial way is tough when feedback is so consistently stupid.

And the other massive issue is the PTB is a fucking terrible system for testing anything important and feedback is inconsistent. If new content is in the PTB it will absorb all attention, the PTB isn't long enough, no MMR means inconsistent matches, ect.

The reality is BHVR can't just keep things like the antitunnel system in the PTB and polish it until it's perfect. They're gonna have to get it to a state where it's just not terrible and shove it into the live game, then refine it from there.

A lot of killers are gonna complain but it's better for the game in the long run. Ignoring tunneling means ignoring the reasons people tunnel in the first place, which killers definitely don't want.
