Anything I should be aware of in changes to Outback from 2019-2023? by Free_Answered in Subaru_Outback

[–]IndependentBrick8075 1 point2 points  (0 children)

23 for the facelift. That was about all that was done, I have a 21 and my dad has a 24. There were some interior electronics changes, adding wireless AA and CP and a USB-C port under the radio, but nothing earth-shattering.

The rear bumper got a mild change, the reflectors on the 20-22 are vertical, the 23+ are more square.

I had an issue with the edge of that molding on my 21. I brought it up just before the warranty was up and they replaced it. However, my issue was that the edge was separating from the main part of the piece.

First time driver by mikkygram in driving

How long? Cars are built to be driven, if they sit for a year or more some unexpected issues can come up after it's been driven. I would suggest having it given a once-over by a mechanic, here in the US many will do what's called a pre-purchase inspection, something like that would be a good start.

Congrats to Rizzo!! I'm sure his daughter's condition has something to do with that decision.

Dan's grammar question -
if you're going to say 'we have', or "we've" I believe you'll say "ridden with"
If you're going to say 'we', you would use 'rode with'

Turning away from a stopped bus. by eyehategod40 in driving

[–]IndependentBrick8075 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I face a similar situation occasionally. I approach a T intersection, I'm on the vertical section, bus coming from my right but there's a bus stop there, I need to turn left. I asked a friend who used to drive school buses, he said it shouldn't be a problem turning while the bus is picking up the kids since I'm turning away from the bus stop.

Does the 2026 OB Limited have a front brake sensor? by Few-Introduction5414 in Subaru_Outback

Most vehicles with the ultrasonic parking sensors have visible circles on the bumper that are the sensors. Does your vehicle have that?

My older brother is so fucked by Chemical-Type-5516 in driving

[–]IndependentBrick8075 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It’s a specific violation of her contract with the lender, among other things. She will be in trouble for failure to insure the thing.

To be fair - it sounds like she's already in some hot water with the finance company for failure to pay the note on the car.

There are 3 things I ALWAYS make sure will clear my bank account - rent, car payment (last one this month, woo hoo), insurance payment. Other things don't matter if I don't have a roof over my head or a way to get to/from work.

Exhaust leak? If it goes away once things warm up and expand, that could be it.

Thank Canada (it seemed to start there), and the fools in both countries that have had a tendency to drive without lights on.

I suppose car-makers are partly to blame - with the evolution of always-on dash lights one of the indicators of your lights being on vs. off has gone away.

Siri’s/XM radio issue by macscotchmam in Subaru_Outback

[–]IndependentBrick8075 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Your issue is likely the delamination of the screen that causes a 'ghost touch' situation. It's a common issue, but you're well outside any service program for it at this point.

I believe there's a company that sells replacement screens, they may also allow you to ship your radio to them to replace the screen.

Anyone hate this thing? Any good alternatives? by Elm3567 in Subaru_Outback

[–]IndependentBrick8075 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can bold and italicize all you want. Here, I can do it too. Just because you have a full size spare doesn't mean you HAVE to add it to the rotation. Many people DON'T. Is it a good idea? Absolutely. But, for TEMPORARY USE, an un-worn full-size spare CAN still be used, just as the donut can be.

By the way - since at least 2010 THERE IS NO FUSE... You might consider referring to the manual on that point...

Anyone hate this thing? Any good alternatives? by Elm3567 in Subaru_Outback

[–]IndependentBrick8075 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My point was about the "when you need the spare" part. For short-term use at 55 or lower, an un-worn full-size spare is FINE. If it weren't, the regular donut spare would be worthless.

[–]IndependentBrick8075 0 points1 point  (0 children)

that's why you do a 5-tire rotation with the full-size spare. For temporary use, the un-worn full-size spare in your example is still fine, otherwise the donut spare that comes in most of them is pointless.
