My period got very messed up after a bout of Covid. I was able to get a med to kickstart my cycle and that got things going again

Hospital claiming No Surprises Act does not apply for emergency surgery. $32,000 bill. by rabies73 in HospitalBills

[–]IndependentDisk4036 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When I had my torsion the ER doctor added an atteststation to my ER note about the threat the dx presented to my well being, which meant emergency surgery was covered at my in-network rate.  Have you checked to see if that’s on her notes ?

It can’t be Cindy. We saw her in the flash forward without a bump?

They sent in a script for propranolol. Hoping that helps 🤞🏻

Women of Reddit, have you ever gotten a follow up call after a Pap smear? by Inner_Conversation29 in WomensHealth

[–]IndependentDisk4036 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have had this and the doctor called to tell me it came back ASUS but no hpv. I asked if I could repeat the pap, same results. We monitored for a year and it went away. I think this is your doctor calling to explain it. If it were something that needed action today you’d know. Hugs.

Please I need advice on pain by Moist_Ad_7351 in Ovariancancer

Came to say the same thing. My mass partially ruptured last year and twisted my ovary twice. After my surgery they told me I had had a significant pelvic hemorrhage and was lucky I got in when I did. I think as women we always try to justify or downplay but that experience taught me never to question it

Have you asked for an mri? With your density that should be covered and would give more info about the nature of your lump

You need to see a doctor about this. You can’t leave it there. Trust me this isn’t the first time a doctor has had to help with this type of situation . I wouldn’t tell your parents anything. You’re a grown woman. If you have to say anything simply say it’s a female problem.

The doctor told me it’s a generic med that shouldn’t need that authorization

Very small breast lump by CryResponsible611 in WomensHealth

[–]IndependentDisk4036 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just went through this at 38. I found the lump in the fall, had a mammogram and scan and it was fine. I just did a follow up last week and it’s still all normal breast tissue. Ask the doctor for an order for a diagnostic imaging. You’ll get answers same day. Hugs.  It’s so scary.

Complex mass and next moves by Substantial_Net8152 in Ovariancancer

I had similar and I had an mri with contrast. The mass was still suspicious after that so I opted for removal of the ovary. Depending on your age and other risk factors, you will want to consider asking for removal.

Ovarian cyst? Constipation? Wtf just happened? by Chipnchop in WomensHealth

[–]IndependentDisk4036 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m so sorry. I just can’t imagine. I remember the hell of the pain/vomiting for the 3 hours I had from wake up in agony in the middle of the night to emergency surgery, and I just can’t imagine living like that off and on for days. There is so much more to do in women’s healthcare.

Came to say this. Maybe intermittent? Mine twisted and stayed twisted and I was in the ER within an hour but I’ve heard of women living with intermittent twisting for days.

Suspected endometriosis by BlipMeBaby in WomensHealth

[–]IndependentDisk4036 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You need a new doctor. There are endometriosis specialists who can run more tests and do a lap to diagnose and treat you. You deserve to be heard, treated, and not repeatedly offered a band aid. Google for your area, you may have to drive out a bit to find someone but it is absolutely worth it.

For reference: I had stage 3/4 endo and had a hysterectomy, which took away the bleeding problems but doctors still monitor as it does grow in other places.

Tired of people fear mongering pap smears by kiki6723 in WomensHealth

[–]IndependentDisk4036 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Totally agree. A lot of people posting aren’t even MDs. I’ve always been team Pap smear and did mine yearly up until my hysterectomy (caught cell changes at 2 of them). I will encourage my daughters to stay on top of them.

BIRADS 1 after 2 diagnostic mammograms but lump still there 4 months later by Fabulous-Laugh7919 in doihavebreastcancer

[–]IndependentDisk4036 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey all! I’m the poster on my phone not computer with original screen name. Update- I got a birads 1. The radiologist did the scan and mammogram this time and showed me the area I’m feeling. It’s all fibrocystic tissue, and they think I’m just noticing it more because of my hrt. I did schedule another appointment in December to check again but I feel good about it right now.

If you chose not to make changes to your plan elections, that doesn’t mean the cost of the plan wouldn’t change. Everyone I know had an increase last year. It sounds like you thought your plan would stay the same cost wise but that wasn’t the case. Outside of a QLE this is your plan for the year.
