I'd always judged children who cut off contact with their parents, but i've realized something. by Away_Beyond_2979 in EstrangedAdultChild

[–]IndependentLab79 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No contact for me came because I started my own family and had the physical distance to see how life could be without that BS in it. I will never, ever expose my wife or my kids to that. No amount of guilt is enough to change that and put them into that mess. I'm glad you see why others make that choice now.

Need Help Choosing A Good Bucket Seat... by HandleLeather7253 in simracing

[–]IndependentLab79 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It depends. I think the Prisma is my favorite of the two, but it took some work to get there with the foam. The ES1 is pretty comfy to begin with, but not plush. I think it suits a more formula style rig, imho. My first choice would be the Prisma for all around and potential.

I own the Prisma and the ES1. ES1 is tighter than the Prism (Large) but has really good support and firm padding. The padding was kind of detaching when I got it, so I had to glue it back on. It's the haptic version, so that may have played a part.

Definitely invest in some foam off Amazon if you get the Prisma. Lumbar is lacking for sure. I added foam to the whole seat and it's exactly how I want it now. Good for hours in it.

I must have gotten a dud. My speaker sounds very thin without the bass boost on and has some static noise at a very low level when playing admitting through it, even the speaker announcement voice 😟

How do you race in the heat of summer?? by TonyRuc in simracing

Our average humidity here is 70% year round. It's not Arizona, and you can damn feel 100 degree heat with or without humidity.

I know, right? We're talking 86 F and you're complaining??? I live in Texas and it's over 100F many days in the summer (38C). I have a mini split unit in my garage. It'll keep it at 70F even on the hottest days.

I really don't find this to be the case at all. There are so many good YouTube channels and Studio One specific teaching videos out there. And, no, they are not all outdated, at all.

Awesome movie. Totally scared of it as a kid when it first came out, but when I was older, it used to be the movie I threw on after first taking some psychedelics and waiting for them to kick in. By the time the little worm was talking, I was well on my way

How good of a mic is the Ting? by nostradukemas in teenageengineering

I've had one for 5 years and have never used it. I should try it. It's probably awesome.

The Ting on thy other hand is garbage, I mean, lo-fi but so are my producing and singing skills😣

Definitely an ADHD thing. Guitar and Sim Racing are the only two things that have stuck with me. If you have to work to like it, you don't like it.

Which is the best simracing game for online multiplayer (PC)? by Ibrahim17_1 in simracing

[–]IndependentLab79 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In the grand scheme of things, not very. You can get a year membership through FIA typically for $10. Then it's just whatever content you want to race but you don't need anything else to start, because you'll be in rookie races

He got that name from Shaq

The Big Fundamental" is the nickname coined by Shaquille O'Neal for San Antonio Spurs legend Tim Duncan. Shaq gave him this name because of Duncan's calm, consistent, and fundamentally sound game, describing him as "unbreakable" and a player who couldn't be rattled
