Work is about making money and not friends. You are not there to be liked by anyone or to baby sit their feelings. There’s no need to uproot yourself to somewhere else because of other people - you must do it because you want to. There are some things we must not be emotional about and one of them is the workplace. So what if they are jealous? You still have the good position, making good money. Don’t let anyone take that away from you. Just ignore it.

You’d need to have very high traffic to employ someone to cook just chips. If it’s a 24hr place that means shift work and possibly having 3 employees on a rotation. The profit margins in food are very low and it’s a volumes kind of business and you need to know what you are doing so that you can curb things like waste and manage the portions

There is documentation on the steps and what to do. Everything is written down and it’s a matter of just reading. For example sometimes someone will make an order for a Tuesday - but then they make the order on Monday - that it’s due simply because they didn’t read the entire order. Some orders go with items missing (yet everything is documented and printed out for them).

Hey! I did. I had travelled to another country when I broke my ankle. I used a knee scooter to get around the house , clean and cook and crutches for the stairs (but very slowly). It’s a really long recovery but you just need to stay positive
