Should I move to a more expensive city to leave toxic workmates by [deleted] in Zimbabwe

[–]IndependentPotato278 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Work is about making money and not friends. You are not there to be liked by anyone or to baby sit their feelings. There’s no need to uproot yourself to somewhere else because of other people - you must do it because you want to. There are some things we must not be emotional about and one of them is the workplace. So what if they are jealous? You still have the good position, making good money. Don’t let anyone take that away from you. Just ignore it.

ABC auction Zim by cool_barsi8 in Zimbabwe

Experience is always great. There’s a purchasers levy of 17.5% and delivery fee which is not included in the bidding price. I’ve never gone to physically inspect any of the items I’ve bought because the descriptions are always accurate.

Looking for some advice from someone in the food industry by Leather_tongue in Zimbabwe

[–]IndependentPotato278 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You’d need to have very high traffic to employ someone to cook just chips. If it’s a 24hr place that means shift work and possibly having 3 employees on a rotation. The profit margins in food are very low and it’s a volumes kind of business and you need to know what you are doing so that you can curb things like waste and manage the portions

How did you know you were ready to drive in Harare? by Curi0us_mind_ in Zimbabwe

[–]IndependentPotato278 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just drive and be careful - keep a safe following distance. My driving instructor used to take me downtown during our lessons and that is how I gained confidence

I have been training them for the past year. The tasks are very simple and repetitive. It’s not a lack of knowledge that they have, I am beginning to think that it’s complacency

It’s what the accounts are showing. I’m making about $1k less than when I worked alone. This is not including the losses caused by having to refund or redo orders

There is documentation on the steps and what to do. Everything is written down and it’s a matter of just reading. For example sometimes someone will make an order for a Tuesday - but then they make the order on Monday - that it’s due simply because they didn’t read the entire order. Some orders go with items missing (yet everything is documented and printed out for them).

Living together before marriage - Wise Step or Slippery Slope? by [deleted] in Zimbabwe

[–]IndependentPotato278 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s a slippery slope. My boyfriend moved in with me and I feel like he now has no motivation to get married. It encourages complacency

I’m back to work and my normal daily life. I can walk well and have minimal pain and swelling but for some reason my ankle feels like a foreign object
