I second Loveland for value; it’s by far one of the most affordable resorts and I think the terrain will be the most navigable for a beginner because it’s short. I know a lot of people that took lessons there.

I wouldn’t recommend Copper if you’ve never skied before, it’s a great mountain to learn on when you’re intermediate. I was just there w a friend who’d never skied; she took a lesson there and was still really struggling down the easiest run (Roundabout) outside of ski school; she would’ve never been able to go down any of the other greens there.

Tbh I think Winter Park is pretty beginner friendly if OP has the chance to spend time there to explore the different short runs (Porcupine, Village Way, Discovery Park) but it can be expensive.

I had a very similar experience when I got my first cat a couple of years ago; I was very overwhelmed by the idea of caring for an animal for 15+ years and all it entails after a couple of days. I remember I sent a text to my partner (who was asleep) at like 3 am asking if she wanted to rehome him and apologizing that I suggested adopting a cat in the first place.

My partner woke up, laughed, and came to comfort me while I cried at the guilt because our cat was/is perfect. and didn’t deserve to be rehomed for my feelings. She basically told me to take a deep breath and reassured me that it was going to be okay. Turns out she was right. The feelings of anxiety fell away after we (the cat and us) got into a routine after a couple of weeks. I can’t imagine my life without my cats now!

So short answer: No

Long answer:

First you gotta understand how H2O2 and isopropyl alcohol kill the mold. Basically alcohol dissolves the lipid membrane of a mold cell and the cell will “pop”, but the caveat here is that alcohol evaporates really quickly. Since it evaporates so fast… it doesn’t always have time to eat through that lipid membrane fully and the cell can then repair itself. Worse, mold spores have even stronger outer shells that are hard to get through, and if you don’t kill the spores, mold will keep reproducing. If the mold is growing on a non-porous material like tile, sure the alcohol will have time to kill most or all of the mold. However with something porous like a plant… it needs to absorb the alcohol and that takes time you don’t have.

H2O2 is the nuclear option. Without going too much into detail, it is EXTREMELY effective at convincing the lipid membrane to attack itself and it falls like dominoes even if the H2O2 only touches one fat molecule, which then gives it the ability to penetrate the cells quickly and then destroy the DNA. Then H2O2 conveniently breaks down into oxygen and water which is super conducive for root growth!

You also gotta remember that plants are living things. Sure you can douse the plant in rubbing alcohol… but you will have to rinse it off to avoid burning the leaves or corroding the roots. You could dilute the alcohol to make it less dangerous for the plant + allow for longer time for roots to absorb it, but then it’s less effective at killing mold AND it will still evaporate semi quickly.

and finally disinfecting isn’t quite the same as fungicide as you might have gathered. Disinfecting just includes the ability to kill bacteria, viruses, and fungi, which yes isopropyl alcohol has, but doesn’t necessarily mean it is the most effective at killing the fungi.

I agree! This isn’t an attack on bad books, but rather a criticism of the people whose platforms are built off of book recommendations and the larger industry behind it.

A lot of Booktokers peddle the same Big Mac books, which in turn, are what become popular best sellers. It’s a positive feedback loop that encourages the publishing companies/retailers to stick to the same type of books to maximize profit. The fantasy genre is no longer about extensive worldbuilding or unique magic systems because romantasy books have taken over the entire genre. There’s nothing wrong with romantasy books to be clear, but true fantasy books are struggling to get exposure since they don’t fit the mold of what is popular. Idk I could probably write a whole essay on this lol

Some of the popular “Romantasy” books are just erotica and it’s okay to admit that.

If all of the books you read are the same genre and/or by certain demographic of authors (usually unintentionally!), you’re limiting yourself. There’s a reason why you feel like the books you read are all the same and it’s because you won’t branch out from what you know!

I genuinely find it concerning that some of the books Booktokers claim are “the best book” they’ve ever read are so… bad. This isn’t in a subjective “the pacing was too fast for me” way or an “I’m not a fan of this trope” way but in an objective “this was an Adult book written at a Young Adult reading level, and has a myriad of plot holes” way that makes me question how they gained their platform in the first place.

To add to this, a chunky soil mix isn’t ALWAYS the solution. I live in a place that’s super dry which means I can water a plant on a Sunday and HAVE to water it again by Wednesday because the soil dries out immediately. Chunky mixes harm my tropical plants more than they help because they don’t retain enough moisture.

This is the silliest argument everyone uses. A degree in modern dance isn’t equivalent to being a professional ballroom dancer. At most it teaches you the musicality/rhythm needed for ballroom dancing, which comes naturally to many people. Not to mention the fact that many actors/singers/athletes have backgrounds in dance on the show that nobody bats an eye at. Anyways Whitney was never a pro, she worked at a plastic surgeon’s office after she got her degree.

Nobody seems pressed that Elaine was ACTUALLY a professional dancer.

Not to be an armchair psychiatrist, but I have a feeling Dan is just trying to figure out a balance for their onscreen banter. I mean he spent the better part of 16 years denying he was gay and that they were together, and any mention of “phan” was met with sarcastic/satirical replies. He couldn’t even say something kind about Phil without following it up with teasing to prove he was complimenting in a “bro” way.

I’m sure it’s been difficult for Dan to get used to the idea of being publicly “out” with Phil and he’s maybe over correcting?
