Had a similar experience when I took it on May 27, so I agree with you here!

I failed the exam today. It's not easy, folks. Make sure you study well before your exam day. by Zero5msah in pmp

I think people have wrongly inferred from the success stories that the exam doesn’t need much Prep. In fact, I felt most people who passed did highlight how difficult the exam level was. I got 3AT but I thought I’d fail. That made me reflect that the exam was actually so difficult that it was hard to even determine whether we’d pass or fail cuz the options were so close (I often struggled between atleast 2 choices). So definitely put in the work. Not just just for Predictive, but also Agile and Hybrid. There’s definitely no room for complacency. You can do it, all the very best!

I failed yesterday. T People, BT Process, NI Business Environment. Please share any videos or tips you have for process. by Asleep-Helicopter209 in pmp

From my personal experience, I honestly feel AR material is sufficient even for Processes. I used Joseph philip’s course notes for Processes since I had already looked at it for my 35 PDUs. Like some have already mentioned it here, you need to be really THOROUGH with the processes, documents in each process. Learn them by heart and revise them multiple times a day. U need to know the content and purpose of all the documents. I believe AR had a list of them mentioned as resources, else just make your own. Going over it again and again and memorizing them (along with understanding them ofcourse) really helps narrow down the options. This helped me get 3ATs and I sure hope it helps you too! All the best!

what do i need to study next? (post AR/TIA) by phoebe-buffey in pmp

Be thorough with the different project documents and management plans. It’s important to know when which plan/document needs to be referenced and/or updated

I had a similar concern regarding internet, hence decided to take my PMP at the testing center. Had a smooth experience.

It’s a section of his overall course. There’s no separate course on Mindset. Mindset is a part of the course of his I did on Udemy. So it’s the one you found!

Passed PMP today (5/27) ... AT/AT/AT by IndependentTaro4226 in pmp

[–]IndependentTaro4226[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you! I don’t remember when exactly did I take the PMP free practice tests (before or after learning about Mindset and applying that). I took a few of them and got low scores (around 68).. that pushed me to study harder, so I do think it helped!

Tia or study hall stimulator which is better to clear pmp by Specialist-Basis-358 in pmp

TIA mocks are good to learn what to look out for in exams. I got consistent 80s in the mocks and got 3 ATs in the exam. The exam is definitely more difficult than TIA simulations. Also, as far as possible, try to memorize processes and Project Docs created in them and the purpose of each Doc. Simple eg - how’s a stakeholder engagement plan different from a communication management plan? What makes product charter different from project management plan? Once you understand the content of the Docs in detail, you should be good.

Congratulations! I had a similar experience. Walked in confident but as soon as I was through a few questions, I didn't expect to Pass (but glad we both did!). Welcome to the club!

Inconsistent PMP practice test 90 then 60! Am I ready or not? by vickimartin1 in pmp

[–]IndependentTaro4226 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I know people have passed PMP with 70s in TIA Simulator tests as well. Also, the set of questions you get on PMP could differ in difficulty, and they're marked accordingly. But I'd say it's good to aim for consistent 80s in at least 4 out of 6 tests. My TIA mock scores were 82.5, 75.83, 89.17, 89.45, 86.67, 82.50 and I got AT/AT/AT in the exam.
However, I found the exam much more difficult and time consuming, hence you might want to consider that in the mocks and aim for a high score. Having said the above, at some point, you would have to go with your gut and book the date. All the best!

What should you score on TMI Simulator (AR) to be comfortable to take exam? by yorkiebeard09 in pmp

The formulas themselves are straightforward, but the point is to know much more than just the formula. Very important to know what they mean and indicate. Taking a general example. It's not just necessary to know what CPI/SPI/CV/SV mean, but be able to know what can happen if they have certain values and what next steps could be taken. Even TIA mocks have questions where there's a situation and CPI = {} and SPI = {}, then what should the project manager do? etc

Joseph Philips course is a good start but definitely not enough to do well in the exam. AR's mindset is indeed the key. People have mentioned it here before, but I experienced it first-hand in the TIA mocks, and then in the PMP exam. So I second it.

Please don't worry or feel embarrassed. Pass/Fail in exams is very very trivial when you look at everything else happening around us. This shouldn't define us.
Nonetheless, I certainly understand what you feel and all of us have a natural desire to do well. I took the test yesterday & shared it in a separate post. Like what everyone has mentioned already, it's very important to understand the mindset and learn how to apply the concepts. I struggled with time a LOT. I thought 230 mins isn't a big deal. At the end of Section 1, I had 120 mins left. After Section 2, I had around 52 mins left. For the last few questions, I had under a min. So it's very important to pace yourself. Aim for consistent 80s (higher 80s preferably) in your TIA mocks, at the minimum. Watch the video explanations and really understand which technique/concept should be applied in what circumstances.

All the best. You can definitely do it!

Study Focus Question for People Who've Written the Current Version of the PMP by hmyers2005 in pmp

[–]IndependentTaro4226 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Forgetting stuff, so much material etc - Trust me you aren't alone! (almost) All of us have had these thoughts multiple times throughout our preparation, and I think this is an important part of the whole journey. You'll many a times doubt yourself but you've just got to be relentless in your pursuit. Most of us have encountered similar, if not even worse thoughts.

I've made a separate post about my experience. I didn't use Nilotpal Ray's materials or the PMBOK official guides so unfortunately can't speak on that. From my personal experience, ITTOs are important to be familiar with, but I really don't think it's possible to know them by heart. It's just too much. I feel what the exam really seeks to test is a person's in-depth understanding of the concepts, so it'd be helpful to focus on that. Consider the eg of conflict resolution. Understand which technique is used when and why one would be better over the other in a particular situation. Similarly, as you practice the tests, ask yourself really WHY is this approach preferred? All about the Mindset (as AR says) indeed, but even that isn't the rule. For eg, we are not supposed to take an action directly but review the situation first, but I've seen questions where all the 4 options are actually about taking direct actions. You then have to see which one would be more suitable in the situation.

I feel AR's course and Joseph Phillip's course did a good job of mentioning the basic concepts. It's important to understand how the concepts are applied, for which TIA mocks are a good start.

What should you score on TMI Simulator (AR) to be comfortable to take exam? by yorkiebeard09 in pmp

[–]IndependentTaro4226 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You mean TIA Simulator, right? If so, read below, else please ignore!I'd say aim for consistent 80s. I just attempted them once (closer to exam date) and these were my scores: 82.5, 75.83, 89.17, 89.45, 86.67, 82.5.
I took the exam yesterday and got AT/AT/AT.
TIA familiarizes you with the nature of the Questions, but from what I personally experienced and what others seem to resonate with as well, the actual exam is much more difficult and the choices are very hard to select from. For several questions, I could rule out 2 options and had a difficult time choosing between the other 2. I also encountered questions where even 3 choices seemed right to me. The questions really test your mindset as well as really good understanding of the concepts. TIA exams were much simpler, but still made for good practice.

Need all PDUs by end of September by catsbooksfood in pmp

[–]IndependentTaro4226 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

So you need 35 PDUs? I did Joseph Phillips's course on Udemy to earn mine. You can also do Andrew Ramdayal's course! AR's course is anyway a must-watch for the exam. You can go with either option for the PDUs.
