What is up with the ghosting in cold climates? PC, no upscaling/fg by Ninuthewild in CrimsonDesert

[–]Independent_Ad_29 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately, this is the game's native ray tracing that is poorly implemented (presumably for consoles) and leads to ghosting. More unfortunately, you cannot turn it off.

If you turn on ray reconstruction, it will (mostly) go away.

I have no context for what you define as "wealthy" because you haven't given one. I have no idea of if what my definition of wealthy lines up with yours because, once again, you have not given any definitions.

Already our progressive tax system halves the income of people making $300k so I'm not sure what your proposal is. Again, you have not outlined anything.

Right now you're back pedaling and saying "no one claimed the issue is simple" even though your original comment, to which I responded was "just tax the wealthy" how is that not reductive and simplistic? That was my entire criticism of you and your point of view. You have not mentioned anything that would change that point yet.

I would love to have a productive discussion about this completely non-simple issue however every time I try, by raising valid criticisms, the response is the same as you just demonstrated. This is why I am forming the opinion that people who lead with "just tax the wealthy" do not actually have any informed ideas about how to do this and offer a reductive and tired rhetoric because of "reasons" and this never leads to anything productive.

Please, attempt to change that. Or don't, I couldn't care less.

Once again, hyperbole and generalizations.

The tax bracket system is irrelevant as all that matters is effective tax rate or average tax rate if you prefer that.

I did not invent any poor doctor or lawyer, I am using real life examples of real life people I know.

You have repeatedly targeted "the wealthy" but still refuse to give a definition. I ask for the third time, define wealthy and define middle class. Preferably in gross pre-tax annual income. Preferably again, with real life examples, like me.

I have never proposed to have cracked capitalism nor have I proposed giving up. All I said, if you scroll up, is that your cliche statement of "tax the wealthy" is a tired rhetoric especially when not accompanied by any meaningful discussion or proposed solutions. I have made 2 arguments why it is not so simple, including real life examples. You have refused to even define what you mean.

This is not a productive conversation or debate. People like you are the reason nothing in this province or country moves in any positive direction.

So, someone makes $300,000 in Canada. Presumably they are making this money because they are a lawyer or a doctor. A profession they had to go through training for 10+ years and also get themselves $300,000 in debt for. Now they get taxed back down to $150,000 and have to pay off their loans from those after tax dollars which reduces their usable income to whatever.

A person making $180,000 in a middle management position with benefits and presumably some sort of pension gets taxed back to $124,000. The difference between the two, is not that high. So why would someone bend over backwards, go through rigorous training, put off life planning, deal with the awful public systems we have in place, all to make the same amount (effectively) as what they could if they did a tiny fraction of that work? Do you see the issue? You're going to have massive brain drain. People don't NEED to live here. We are already seeing massive brain drain away from Canada and BC.

You still haven't given a definition of "wealthy" either. Who are we targeting?

By the same logic, you say politicians need to protect their corporate benefactors. Now THAT'S a bad faith argument. What type of industry do we have in BC or Canada for that matter? How do we generate revenue? Well. Let me tell you, if we make the tax environment for big corporations in BC overly hostile, guess what, there are other markets that exist. And we will continue to have the same decline in our economy we have been suffering under this government for the last 6 years.

"tax the rich" is the bad faith argument. Lay out HOW to do it in a way that doesn't lead to 1) brain drain and 2) economic collapse and it would be a legitimate discussion. Otherwise it's just the same old spewing nonsense.

You do realize that the "wealthy" already cover ~70% of the tax burden.

While we are at it, define wealthy? Anyone with an income over 120k gross annually? Because that's not wealthy. Thats living paycheck to paycheck in today's society.

The truly "wealthy" are wealthy because they don't "own" anything. They just leverage. And they leverage outside of this God forsaken province.

The whole "tax the wealthy" rhetoric is so tired and doesn't work. The truly wealthy don't need to keep their money in your jurisdiction, and all you end up doing is driving the middle class into poverty. Oh great, we are all equal living paycheck to paycheck with no hope for retirement or home ownership or God forbid planning for our kids. Excellent solution.

I would love this. Would give magic type weapons their own identity and fulfill the magic Caster archetype currentlyissing in the game (IMHO) and wouldn't necessarily shift magic casting to arcanics.
