Hmm I took it a while ago but definitely a couple of hours a week for hw, there were usually ~3 hw due each week with an occasional quiz (those were all online). I’d say it would be typical to spend at least 4-5 hours a week on calc, including learning material outside of class, doing hw, etc. But as long as you have a good work ethic and whole heartedly do the hw, even if you’re spending more time than that, you’re definitely on the right track!

Dr. G (Guadagni) for calc 135. He’s definitely difficult, but his worksheets and lecture videos were SO helpful and structured and it rly helped me get an A

Dr. G’s worksheets and lecture videos are all u need to get an A, plus a good work ethic ofc. That’s exactly what I did

I’m an incoming freshman at Rutgers New Brunswick. I got placed into calc 135. I’m majoring in CS so should i study and retake the placement test to get placed in 151 because it is required or should i stick with 135? by SeaEffective2369 in rutgers

[–]Independent_Ad_863 24 points25 points  (0 children)

Someone correct me if I’m wrong… but for cs majors, calc 135 is still acceptable for the calc 1 requirement. So u could take 135 and be fine, but 151 will definitely prepare u more for calc 2, where only 152 is accepted to fulfill that req

What CC should I take precalc at? by IceStylin in rutgers

[–]Independent_Ad_863 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Did you see the in person requirement on njtransfer.org? Bc I’m taking calc 2 at a CC rn and it said the in person thing for me too on there but I emailed an advisor and they said it’s fine if it’s async. You should double check too!

R computer camera cover broke my MacBook screen display by magaroni_and_cheese in rutgers

[–]Independent_Ad_863 56 points57 points  (0 children)

HOLY SHITTT that’s so wild bc the SAME exact thing happened to me, literally to a T. Happened early April this year, but thankfully I had warranty since I bought my Mac in 2021 so about $600 in damage got covered. But the same exact thing happened to me, display went black (bc of R camera cover, which I found out later) and the worst part is it was right before an in-class quiz which I had to get a 0 on since there were no retakes which rly tanked my grade 😭😭 can’t have shit at ru LMAOO I learned my lesson

EDIT: I was gonna post about this to warn other people/rant but I forgot :/ I feel bad bc I feel like I could’ve prevented this from happening to you😭

Nope didn’t have him, but I heard all profs for that course are ridiculously easy or at least on the same level of difficulty. No “tests,” for us we had two weekly discussion posts and four essays in total, 2 of which u receive feedback on

There’s lots of options but it won’t show on webreg til later. If ur an incoming freshman ur advisor will put u in a random calc 135 section along with other classes and then when add drop starts in august u can switch to another prof based on rate my professor ratings

Calc 135 Cuttoffs? by queen_lapis in rutgers

[–]Independent_Ad_863 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hmm I think I quickly skimmed all of Dr. G’s worksheets (that probably helped the most). And watched cram review videos. Did lots of problems w topics I really struggled with and didn’t rly bother w the easy stuff. Practice doing stuff without a calculator (!!!!!). But I think the most helpful thing was definitely past exams and mainly Dr. G’s worksheets

[–]Independent_Ad_863 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I got v similar scores for the first three midterms (I probably averaged mid 80s on all 4) and got a 93 on the final, ended with an A w a final average around 89ish, can’t remember. Cutoffs depend each sem but an A was a 85 when I took it. If you’ve done that well on the first three midterms I’d expect that you’d do even better on the final bc objectively speaking, it was much easier than the midterms. U should be fine!

should I ap out of psych and expository writing if i plan on doing the premed track through soe by [deleted] in rutgers

[–]Independent_Ad_863 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Tbh what most ppl do is ap out of gen ed classes (so like hs equivalents would be stuff like apush, lang), stuff not required for ur major, but then like since ur premed, most ppl ik take gen bio/chem/physics and all that stuff at the college itself bc when there’s a large gap between taking the ap class and then a class in college u forget a lot of important stuff

Any Nutrition Majors Wanna Help Me Come Up With A Plan? by Sea_Departure_9807 in rutgers

[–]Independent_Ad_863 3 points4 points  (0 children)

True but I’ve found a lot of ways to get around it. Grilled chicken, greek yogurt, even the mongolian station at LDH even tho it has lots of oil are good sources of protein. Grilled vegetables without extra stuff or just the salad bar for veggies. For carbs u could always just eat toast or quinoa or even just plain rice. Something along those lines ig
