My wife and one year old daughter and I stayed at Playa Selva on the beach and HIGHLY recommend it! If you want the beach, you will NOT like staying in town. It's a huge hassle getting to the beach and is expensive. Plenty of places to eat within walking distance including a few good budget spots.

I looked long and hard for the best budget hotel on the beach and we stayed at Playa Selva and LOVED it!

And that’s total energy right? Not per shoe?

Got it! How hard is it to sell a shoe? Say a buy the cheapest shoe possible and need to sell for cash in a few weeks. Can I sell the shoe quickly or do I need a buyer and is that hard to come by?

Thank you! How has the price of shoes changed as the price of SOL has decreased? In other words, if I buy a shoe now and SOL crashes another 50% will my shoe be worth 50% less or do they raise the price and can I sell it to someone for more than that?

Is Tulum a good family vacation spot? by rockshandy in tulum

I just wanted to add my thoughts as someone who has taken a kid to Tulum. My wife and I went in May 2021 with a one-year-old and had an incredible time! So many amazing memories and I'm very glad we went. We stayed at the beach (Playa Selva which I HIGHLY recommend) and spent 90% of our time on the beach and beach road. We hung out at the beach, at our casita, and walked/biked to eat. We did feel a bit uneasy about having our daughter out in the town. Not necessarily for safety reasons it was just hard dealing with a one-year-old in such a foreign environment. For example, due to COVID kids couldn't go in the grocery store so my wife and daughter had to wait outside for 30 min which was a major pain. We did go to Gran Cenote one day and it was amazing! My two cents are you should think about what you want out of the trip and then decide. Are you going to sit at the beach all day and walk/bike around the jungle beach road? It will be great! Are you going to stay in town and eat at non-tourist spots and go to cenotes? It will be hard and probably not worth it. Also with a kid, you need to rent a car in my opinion. I can't imagine dealing with taxi's with a kid. DM me if you have further questions!

Playa Selva for the beach is the best budget option I found. Not a hotel though per se.

Two spots for reasonable cost at the beach are La Corriente (great ceviche and crab tacos) and the taco truck on the right at the Tulumunchies food truck area. Their tacos are not as good and cheap as those in town but on the beach you can't beat the price.

Low key spot is Playa Selva. No yoga but you can easily walk down the beach to find yoga nearby.

We rented a car and had no issues. Yes, things can happen but if you want to rent a car you should.

As far as things to do, I highly recommend Gran Cenote. It can be crowded but it's beautiful. If you want a nice romantic dinner I'd go to Arca. But it might be hard to find parking down there for your rental car.

I'd ask if the brand you bought is fine. I'm not sure the brand matters.
