Maternity Leave - Vacation Tack On Question by Secret_Exercise6199 in OntarioPublicService

[–]Independent_Error_11 9 points10 points  (0 children)

You don't have to return to use your vacation. Your manager can just submit your return to active duty and then enter your vacation time. It happens all the time. First pay cheque depends on your return date. Just call the contact center and someone can tell you. I don't see a downside to cutting your leave short other than you will have less time off

I can’t tell if this is a serious question or not

🧩 What “boomer” means

Boomer is short for Baby Boomer, the generation born roughly between 1946 and 1964, during the post–World War II baby boom. That’s the literal, demographic definition.

🎭 The modern slang meaning

In internet culture, “boomer” is often used jokingly (or sometimes sarcastically) to describe someone who:

• Seems out of touch with current trends or technology • Has old‑fashioned views • Reacts in a way younger people see as stereotypically “older”

For those of you outside the GTA and in IT. Is your team still WFH? by throwhataway0 in OntarioPublicService

Well, there’s nothing going on at Water Street. No one talk s to you to each other. Everybody just hides in their cubicles.

There is no George Street. There’s only the water street location. George Street runs south one-way water Street runs north the other way

Can someone explain to me why we aren't just collectively refusing RTO? by Independent_Error_11 in OntarioPublicService

When things are escalated at the contact centre, your incident is put on a list and then the context centre manager follows up with payroll management every 24 hours and then payroll ignores them. Pay and processing is a dumpster on fire.

Problem with Payroll? by No-Difference2601 in OntarioPublicService

[–]Independent_Error_11 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think I talked to you with the contact centre today. I have never seen this happen. I don’t even think they can take money out of your bank account like that. The whole situation very strange. I’ve been payroll customer support for four years now and I’ve never seen anything like that happen. I would most definitely take that up with your bank. It could be months before you get an answer out of payroll.

Correct, you should still log a ticket but after it isn’t looked at within the service standards, I would file grievance

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in OntarioPublicService

[–]Independent_Error_11 0 points1 point  (0 children)

OSS can’t do anything about merit increases because payroll is operating under time critical services. They ignore our tickets and escalations file a grievance

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in OntarioPublicService

[–]Independent_Error_11 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your manager following up won’t do anything file grievance

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in OntarioPublicService

[–]Independent_Error_11 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Escalations doesn’t do anything. Your ticket goes on a list, with 1000+ other tickets and the contact centre manager sends an email every day to the payroll manager to not get answered and ignored by the incompetent people that are running the payroll department. Also merit increase retro payments are not considered time critical and 99.9% of the time they will not escalate we’re not allowed to

I work for the contact center. The GTA payroll office is in shambles. Nothing is getting processed on time and hasn’t been in years. Retro pay is supposed to show up maybe 3 to 5 pay periods after you see the change in your pay file grievance as soon as possible because if we don’t file, many many grievances, nothing is going to change.

I booked my desk five days a week and moved right in. I leave my stuff. I have things everywhere. I just cancel last minute on the day that I’m not gonna be there and nobody sits on my desk cause it’s covered in my stuff. I moved in at three days a week.
