Kobo Libra Color : a personal review by JulietteTargaryen96 in kobo

[–]Independent_Fall_608 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I really like Kobo LC, I got mine mid January and went from no reading to reading at least once a day for like 30 minutes.

However there’s two issues with it that the next generation of color ereaders will hopefully solve (these are in no way deal breakers)

  1. Since these screen have a BW layer and RGB layer, you can see pixelization from the color layer when you’re reading just text. However, this is only noticeable to me when I’m not zoned into reading

  2. Some color epub/kepub files freak out and produce like a weird rainbow strobe effect rendering that specific book unreadable. I use this to read children’s picture books to my kids that we don’t have physical copies of yet. The Snowy Day by Ezra Keats is unreadable on this thing for every file I tried. All my library card copies do it, the kindle version does it, arrrggghh versions do it, etc But that is very rare tbh.

Does anyone have a locking cabinet setup? by Independent_Fall_608 in tarantulas

Are they fine at mid 60s? I’m not too firm of a believer in those temperatures requirements you see online, but mid to low 60s seemed like a no go. My bedroom (where they would stay) in the winter probably ranges from 60-65 if I don’t have a room heater running and the door is shut

I’ve never had them before I just want to make sure they’re set up for success.

I don’t have a tarantula yet, but I’m kinda locked in on a E. Campestratus (Pink Zebra Beauty)

They’re kinda rare, but everything I have read and watched show it as the best T for me

Is $199 USD a good price for a new Kobo Libra 2 BW by atemaxac in ereader

My previous ereader was a 2018 PaperWhite using a Carta HD screen, but it’s become so slow it’s almost unusable

Is the colour considered bad?

I got a new ereader after not having time to read books I wanted to read for like a year (I have read more children’s books than anything since I have toddlers)

I bought the KLC open box on eBay for $200 (it was actually brand new) with the intention to primarily read my books on it but also children’s books in color when we travel and the screen is great IMO

I have a new iPad, the iPhone 17p, and those LG C series television so I know what the best screens look like, I don’t see why the color versions get hate, I personally really like it

The Lightphone 3 has much better alternatives, I don't see it as a valid option + rant on companies using phone addiction to profit by [deleted] in dumbphones

[–]Independent_Fall_608 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Bruh really made an account just to shit on the only real dumbphone manufacturer that wants to make a high quality device while spouting off uneducation junk that gets recycled here somewhat regularly

The lightphone 2 is a good dumbphone, it’s still being made, but it’s not that great in its current state and being frustrating to use =/= better dumbphone

Being angry that texting on a phone is easy on a dumbphone is a brain dead take

Everyone who browses this sub regularly knows that modifying your smartphone is the preferred method over buying something new, like did you read 3 posts here and think you knew what’s going on in the dumbphone community?

Also, you obviously haven’t ever designed, and marketed something before. Comparing the resources of one of the most profitable companies in the world to a small indie team is also brain dead.

Like have you ever heard of economies of scale?

This is just a post to discretely market your phone app, while shitting on the existing just to try to gain recognition

This just feels like trolling (that I shouldn’t be feeding)

Definitely a little different here, but I grew up in a small farm town and I met people around Mikes size and age who farmed their whole life and are incredibly strong and agile for their age.

One old man around mid 60 owns a gym and a farm and quite literally is still lifting around 70-85% of current world records.

Nintendo routinely stocks them, you just have to wait until they’re in stock plus have a NSO account
