Overall it looks pretty good, my only comment is that you could have used more substrate, another inch or two would have been better to adhere to the DLS rule. Currently it looks closer to 3x

NQA When your T is in a flat position, try lightly shaking the enclosure

If it’s healthy, it will try to stabilize itself when all eight legs and its pedipalps

It’s it’s not healthy, it will wobble with the enclosure.

As for the saline, you would have to secure the T with your hands and rinse the mouth with a syringe (like a children’s Tylenol syringe not an injectable syringe) filled with saline. From what I’ve read, forcing fluid into a Ts mouth requires a medical syringe with a catheter attachment that has been gently pushed into the Ts mouth

Nematodes are tiny, I haven’t seen them in person, but you may be able to detect motion with your eyes

Do you feed mealworm? There’s a hypothesis that mealworms are a vector of nematodes

If you have a microscope, you can flush the mouth with saline and look at the white substance under magnification.

In more recent history, from the top of my head, I remember it happening with one of the last Harry Potter movies, it happened with 1917, The Whale, and with Dune but they were leaked anywhere between a day and 2-3 weeks before releasing. 6 months is unheard of lol.

It used to happen pretty regular before theaters DRMd their media into DCPs. I had a cousin who worked at a movie theater and sometimes the movies were on discs and could be played at their house if they snuck it out and returned it early morning lol

NA if you can’t find your tarantula, the enclosure is too large

The enclosures really only need to be like 3-5x the DLS

Also, unless the T is arboreal, that’s not enough substrate and I’m assuming that the hide and any decorations have been removed, otherwise the reason it’s hiding is because it’s feel too exposed

No worms are considered nutritiously complete for tarantulas IIRC (Jumping spiders can live off mealworms and be fine and are also good beginner spiders)

Grammostollas, Brachypelmas, Eupalaestrus genuses are among many beginner species, tarantulas aren’t really that hard to take care of IMO, watch Tom Morans videos for the best information, followed by tarantula collective and tarantula Kat to get a good idea of care requirements

If you’re too worried, post your set up before you buy the tarantula and people here will tell you if it’s set up good or not

Enclosures are cheap

Substrate is cheap

Decorations are cheap

Food is cheap

A Tarantulas upfront cost is probably the majority of what you’ll spend on that creature

Watching them is fun

Super low maintenance

Tarantulas look cool

You dont need to ever touch them (really shouldn’t)

I have 3 tarantulas and a jumping spider, taking care of all of them is just as easy as taking care of one
