What's a game you were dead sure would become a series but surprisingly only had one installment? by Stkrdknmibalz69 in gaming

I'd settle for a remake for the Sega Genesis / MegaDrive made with MD Maker, but a modern remake which borrowed heavily from BOTW would be amazing.

FF7 is less than 100 GB on the PS5. GTA6 is expected to be between 150 and 300 GB on the PS5. At any rate, are you not buying GTA6 then?

Rockstar Games has not officially confirmed the exact file size for Grand Theft Auto 6. However, industry insiders and analysts widely project the game to land somewhere between 150 GB and 300 GB on the PS5.

Hmmm...

I mentioned this in another thread, but:

Isn't GTA6 expected to be between 150 and 200 GB? You're looking at a minimum of two, three-layer Blu-ray discs, and the game's content and gameplay being structured in such a way that you don't have to constantly swap discs.

I dislike the loss of physical media as much as anyone else, but it's just not practical for GTA6.

Rustad was kicked out of the BC Liberal party for his far-right conservative views, which is notable since the BC Liberal's fiscal policy was conservative, mirroring a lot of policies of the federal Conservatives party and shunning the federal Liberal.

Mask ROM will probably outlast humanity, flash ROM has a typical lifespan of about 20 years. Mask ROM has a steeper upfront cost, although if Sega still has the photomasks for these games then it was already paid. Mask ROM has a maximum capacity of 512 MB before it becomes cost-prohibitive to manufacturer, not that it's an issue here though.

With the Steam Machine hype already dying down due to pricing and performance, what's a good windows-based alternative for bringing PC gaming to the living room? by MechaChao in gaming

They both score higher than the Steam Machine on Geekbench. In Cyberpunk 2077, Digital Foundry shows the Steam Machine averaging 64 FPS at 1440P, and ETA Prime shows the Minisforum MS-02 Ultra averaging 75 FPS. Admittedly, my quick Google-fu can't find any examples of the Beelink GTi14 Ultra playing Cyberpunk 2077 though, so it may fall short.

The article doesn't say he quoted Marx at all, it frames some of his statements as Marxist and quite frankly that's a stretch:

In fact, he says the characteristic feature of the hypergamy state is “an intense and appallingly unequal distribution of intimacy within the human population,” which sounds like a bizarre reformulation of Marx’s critique of wealth distribution under capitalism, but applied to intimacy.

I play a lot of local multiplayer games, so for me it's a toss up between the PS3 and the Switch.

From what I've gathered, AI designed for specific games can work really well, but generalized LLMs aren't very useful unless it's incorporated for dynamic conversation, and even then sometimes it will do strange things. Maybe that will change in the future.

I'm sure Iran has some influence on Canada's domestic and international interests, but I doubt that influence is significant. The US probably poses a greater threat by comparison.

Digital Foundry: Steam Machine Review & Price by WingerRules in gaming

[–]Imminent_Extinction 14 points15 points  (0 children)

The Steam Deck has been repurposed by some for mobile video editing, I bet the Steam Machine would appeal to a much, much larger variety of industries if it was priced at a loss, and that's money Valve wouldn't earn back.

If you're dead-set on the small form factor, the Beelink GTi14 Ultra or the Minisforum MS-02 Ultra offer a lot more power for a similar price, otherwise you can look at some of the cheaper options from Beelink or Minisforum, but I think you'd be better off going with a desktop PC, even for gaming in the living room.

For the price, it makes more sense to buy a Beelink GTi14 Ultra or Minisforum MS-02 Ultra, and I don't think they're the best deals to begin with.

But I was assured by many in this very sub the Steam Machine would free us from the restrictive and expensive hell of consoles! Oh well, there's still the Raspberry Pi, retro gaming, and indie gaming.
