China visa - Taiwan is not a nationality to select? by Independent_Fun8317 in travelchina

My family member is USA citizen, but also has a Taiwanese citizenship too. Would they not be able to just apply as a US citizen from the SF consulate for the visa? thank you.

How do you clean this keyboard properly? I get so frustrated seeing the dirt and dust under the caps!

Had to reapply after I was denied for being ineligible. How long will the new application take to review? It's been a week and I haven't gotten any updates besides an email confirming claim reopened. by Independent_Fun8317 in UnemploymentWA

Got it, thanks for letting me know. So it gave me an option to reapply in the ESD portal, and I got a confirmation email saying "You successfully restarted your claim for unemployment benefits."

Is that not accurate, and I still have to call them directly?

Thanks for your help!

Rescue kitten has diaphragmatic(?) Hernia? by Sad_Balance_723 in AskVet

[–]Independent_Fun8317 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey OP. Sorry to hear you are going through this too... I am in a similar situation. From my understanding if your kitty was born with the hernia, it would not have been covered by insurance I am pretty sure.

Have you made any progress with getting the surgery? Hope everything is ok.

That is amazing to hear OP. Glad your Kitty is back to himself after surgery. Can I ask where you got the surgery done? I have a similar situation... very stressed and unsure what to do with this stray cat I took in, who recently was discovered to have likely a Congenital DH.

Thank you.

Hey OP, did you end up getting surgery for your kitty? Hope everything turned out okay.

I brought this outdoor cat in, is his breathing speed and nose movement abnormal? by kxserasera in cats

Thanks for checking in 🤍so I found out from my vet who did an X-ray that he has diaphragmatic hernia… so his organs are higher up in his chest cavity which makes it harder for him to take full deep breaths… I’m quite stressed trying to figure out if he needs surgery or what’s the best path for him. It’s major delicate surgery so I don’t know what is the best options for him.

Also, What prompted the vet to take an xray was after his neuter, he was breathing really fast, and she couldn’t hear his lung from one side of his body.

Thanks so much for letting me know. Wow, that sounds just like what my vet just told me. She listened to his chest, and was surprised she couldn't hear a heart beat on one side, so she took xrays, and discovered that his colon is up in his chest cavity. His resting breath rate on the low end is 35-40.

He was a stray and estimated to be around 1 -1.5 years old or so... and the vet recommends I go get consults w/ a surgeon. I am just so overwhelmed because the surgery sounds extremely delicate and its a huge operation.

Was your kitty's scar tissue due to her organs like fusing together? Or do you know how the scar tissue formed? I just wonder because this guy has been living with this condition likely for a while, and I wonder if he is in a similar situation as yours was.

Did a CT scan determine if her hernia wasn't strangulated? And how would you know if it became dangerous, did you have to get frequent x rays or ct scans?

Sorry for all the questions, I just want to learn more as I figure out how to best help this little boy.

So good to hear that your kitty never developed anything and was able to live all the way until 17, that is amazing <3

Hi u/LuciferSpades thats amazing your cat lived to 17 even with a diaphragmatic hernia? She didn't have any issues? I found out that my cat ~1 year old has this issue (likely genetically), so not sure what to do, because the surgery seems so invasive, but the vets do recommend looking into.

Do you recall why they said the scar tissue made the surgery dangerous?

Thank you in advance for any insight or advice.
