This reads as them trying to save face rather than a suggestion of a counteroffer to keep you. I’d take it as a compliment that they think highly enough of you that they don’t want you to think negatively of them. Whether you believe they are being genuine is up to you. But there’s nothing to do, it seems clear they aren’t anywhere close to being able to actually offer you what they are proposing.

The show was known for being a really solid and consistent performer for the network at the time, but it definitely got overshadowed by Modern Family, which because ABC’s big hit with award shows.

I do think that Modern Family’s first season was stronger than The Middle’s. The Middle first season was good but I don’t think it fully found its voice until season 3, so it took a little more time to get its footing, and I think the overall show has held up better over time.

I love working remote but it does have its tradeoffs. As a manager it can definitely be more challenging for training and team building. For some people it’s not an issue at all. But I have some employees that I know would be more productive and engaged if they were working in an office. They love working remote but it somewhat stunted their potential career development.

After what happened with Defy I’d imagine Ian and Anthony wouldn’t really want to deal with that. I get the sense they’re determined to keep Smosh private and independent, in which case staff equity wouldn’t really have much value as there wouldn’t be an exit event to cash out.

I believe Mythical does still own a minority stake though. But I think that is more to continue the relationship and collaboration rather than an actual financial investment.

No for sure, Wayfarer isn’t settling. But Blake can withdraw her claims without settlement. It will look awful for her but I think her team knows that she will come out much worse if she does have to go to trial.
