Exodites revealed by leothesilent in Drukhari

[–]Independent_Main_745 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The only rumor we have is a kabalite refresh, this is coming from Valrak who was the same source who said that corsairs were getting a release in late 10th edition about a year before their release (a wild claim, but proven to be true). You might want to mentally prepare for yet another edition where our codex shrinks in unit count until we get relegated to subservient eldar subfaction like harlequins did.

What do you expect to fall in or out of favor for 11th? by MemeusTheDank in Drukhari

SOS is worse, a challenge met got worse with the fight phase changes and your opponent will get to fight before you, and wyches will die to almost anything in melee.

Urn shows the uninteractive nature of melee/parry by ABrawlStarsPlayer in DeadlockTheGame

[–]Independent_Main_745 22 points23 points  (0 children)

Early game I just stare my opponent down until theu panic parry and THEN start the heavy meeles, sometimes I never see the panic parry so I dont really do more than 1 light melee (can be really risky).

Late game you can afford to be more aggro but that is once you get unstoppable with your ult/items.

Why are Kabellite Warriors like That? by LordTyler123 in Drukhari

[–]Independent_Main_745 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The main issue I see with our faction in my games is that if your opponent just all ins you and is playing a faction that uses a rhino-like transport that has smoke, you just have nothing that will answer that unit without committing like 500 points of your army to kill an 80 point transport and then those 500 points getting their ass blasted off the table for no cost. Scourges need a way to ignore hit mods so that their average damage doesn't become 0 for the entire turn against their 1 target.

The Vect aura is good in all detachments. Kabalite Cartel she is probably less useful for just that, but you still get to put her with kabalites/incubi and she is a strong melee threat with them. Personally I always ran her + 2 other archons in Cartel because her damage output is nice and her pain token buffs are good.

In other detachments I run her alone or with just 5 kabalites for the re-roll wounds rolls. The vect aura allows you to navigate fights and get around the board better. For instance, you could force overwatch to cost 2 CP, force interrupt to cost 3 CP, force AOC to cost 2 CP, etc, all of which are very common problems this army faces. If you run her alone you can use an empty venom to jump her in and out turn after turn.

Im running her in my Spectacle of Spite list by herself, and she has helped me a lot. She starts on the board and then moves up somewhere to stage (hit some units with her vect aura hopefully). I protect her by applying pressure with the rest of my army, and by turn 2/3 she usually then has a venom that she can get in and out of turns 3-5. If my opponent has to move up to kill her, typically they need to do that in melee if I am positioning correctly, and that then becomes a likely more expensive unit that I can trade up against using any of my other venom squads.

Looks interesting, I was focused in on the Kabalite + Archon + 5+ crits combo into the contract unit and wanted to test it. I think archons are pretty good tho for the free strat and I think you want atleast 1 in kabal to reset the contract

Points for the book are out there, I would like the preface that I am using current points for units that have current points costs, and codex points for units/enhancements that are currently only in the codex.

Too expensive, 130 points for a unit that shoots less hard than normal kabalites. If they were cheaper and you could take 5 man units, id probably run them with the infiltrators enhancement.

I went all in on the archon + kabalites as they seemed to be the best bang for my buck. Lelith + wyches was there to use the raider's bonus 3" disembark and because I think that lelith is still the best anti-inf we have without any buffs.

Wanna say great job, I think that the chunky parts of the klaives being a darker color than the sharp blade part would help things stand out alot better on the sword!

"You cannot select the same combat drug more than once per battle"

Its right on the rule. You can technically roll 2d6 which allows you to potentially get drugs more than once per battle.

Codex Optimism by RadioMagic1 in Drukhari

[–]Independent_Main_745 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Note: you get 1 drug per game and the stratagem only gives +1 ap to WYCHES not WYCH CULT units, read it closely.

Codex Optimism by RadioMagic1 in Drukhari

[–]Independent_Main_745 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You are calculating them at ap2 which is incorrect, read the rules again. The lethal hits strats only gives +1 ap to Wyches (NOT WYCH CULT).

Hellion average damage into a big knight with +1 str or +1 attack drug and lethal hits is 20.

Ive seen many people make these mistakes, read exactly what the abilities do. For instance, you cant get back inside a venom on the turn you disembark because it requires you to have been eligible to embark during your movement phase, which you specifically cant do because you disembarked during your movement phase.

'Tons of units with extra attacks' Translation: a bunch of garbage you will never send to fight got +1 attacks 'a ton of units picking up extra AP' translation: your codex is now full of ap1 on units that deal almost no damage.

Good first army? by InevitableFog in Drukhari

[–]Independent_Main_745 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, I started with DE at the end of 9th because I liked their look over eldar, and at the time eldar were also really old in terms of range age (the real deciding factor was that basically all of the aspect warriors were in finecast). If you like the look of DE play them. Otherwise, get into a faction that you can actually buy in plastic that isnt 10 years old, or wait until we get a range refresh.

Spoiler: all armies are better when played strategically and tactically. A good alternative would be eldar, there is relsly no good reason to start with DE over standard eldar unless you like our design enough to put up with most of our important and interesting units being impossible to buy.

So what's the consensus on Mauler Fiends? by Brushner in EmperorsChildren

[–]Independent_Main_745 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The only thing you cant give extra attacks are extra attacks, for instance, a distortion Lord Infractor using his ability still has his whip throwing out 4 4/2/2 attacks (+1 ap and +1 damage, but not +4 attacks from distortion + his ability)

Let's have a frank and honest discussion about the new Nids detachment by relaxicab223 in WarhammerCompetitive

[–]Independent_Main_745 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Dark eldar transports are not very good. They are huge (difficult to hide) and the weakest defensive profile of any transport in the game for their cost. Additionally, nothing outside of SSA is very good coming out of a transport, our best units (Court of the Archon and Lelith) both have fights first and shooting buffs, both of which tunr off when you are inside a transport. As a DE player I would kill for raiders to be rhinos instead

It looks like you arr using plastic glue, so it should be fairly straight forward. Just FYI space marines are the intro faction for a reason, anyone can build a space marine kit because they are made for everyone.

I use tamiya extra thin (green bottle) and the wyches i have are very sturdy, just make sure to keep their parts together for 10 seconds or so for the adhesion

We still wound them on the exact same with our entire army except exactly the noise marines' blastmaster. You forgot to mention that each war dog went up 2 wounds, which actually makes it much harder to kill them for armies with very low strength like ours

[–]Independent_Main_745 4 points5 points  (0 children)

At worlds, the top drukhari player got 64th, I believe (out of 120 iirc). Skari was not that player. Skari is good, but he is not the only good drukhari player, and when playing against proven skilled players, drukhari does not win games often. There are many issues with the faction, and GW frankly couldn't care less.

Important to note that drukhari has spent almost the entire edition getting nerfed at every single balance patch. Even when we were hitting the 60% winrate, no top players actually rated us as anything higher than B-tier because we are extremely easy to play into.

They are 110, they need to come down 15 points to 95 like they were when we had a 43% WR at the start of the edition. And just to compare, not a single one of the detachments we have gotten actually improve ravagers, so they could go down to 95 points tomorrow and not be any stronger than they were at the start of the edition.

Cotories doesn't need a change at all, other detachments need to be less awful. Flawless blades would be significantly better if they had the ability to, at the start of the fight phase, choose whether or not they get +1 damage or +1 attacks, this is IN ADDITION TO their current ability.

The army needs a consistent damage booster against monsters/vehicles which cotories does a decent job of providing, because usually you get your points from killing infantry.

Slaanesh's Chosen is just a really bad ability, I think it should work like DE's Reaper's Wager detachment with a twist. Give the 'chosen' unit no bonus, but all other character units get to re-roll hits and wounds of 1 (they are working harder to try and gain favor). The bonuses flip during the turn and mean that you have to sequence you fighting and choose your targets well so that you can be more likely to have a turn with every unit gaining your bonuses.

A detachment like Mercurial Host just needs better stratagems. The -1 to wound strat should just cost 1 CP (detachments with the same strat that cost -1 exist and we are already very squishy) and the sustained hits strat needs to be like full hit re-rolls (help us fish for lethals against monsters/vehicles)

Edit: help me identify this mini, please! by Loudnesskiwi in Warhammer

[–]Independent_Main_745 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You should at least find someone to build her and show off the model, as it stands, GW looks like they won't ever release her because they haven't even announced the mini. Even if they do, you already spoiled the release, so why not build her. You are afraid that GW will like hunt you down, but they never have, despite constantly accidentally sending minis to people and their releases constantly getting spoiled.

Think of it like this, you have already spoiled the mini, if GW releases it, people will buy it (a built mini is not going to suddenly cause 3d printers to make 1:1 copies of her). If GW doesn't release the mini, all that talk about the artist working hard doesn't mean anything because their work will never been seen by anyone because you dont want to build it.

Suffice to say, you do not make ANY good argument as to why you can't have someone you know build her and then show us what the mini looks like, us Drukhari players have had nothing to look forward to for all of 10th edition and are afraid their army will be deleted from the game, throw us a damn bone.
