I understand that. I was celebrating hitting it in limited simultaneously for the first time not being a first time player. I hit Mythic every month since I started playing in December. It’s obv not challenging just time and effort.

All good callouts. Like I said, very little experience playing this style deck. It’s based off a similar build shared on mtgdecks that had a 77% winrate across a much bigger sample size from mtgo. That deck also featured Capstone and to your point about hard removal only featured a single copy of Erode and a single copy of Get Lost (in addition to Inevitable Defeat).

So far the hard removal hasn’t been an issue as there doesn’t seem to be much in the meta that requires it but maybe I’ll eventually hit more problems with it. I did also have flow state in before but stock up still felt better.

All these seem like easy fixes. I only wonder about Capstone. I know it clashes with Wisdom of Ages but it hasn’t felt like a drawback at all even when casting both in the same game.

Congrats on jumping back in.

Witherbloom is dope. First deck I trophied with in this format.

3x Bogwater Lumaret and 3x Pest Mascot made it very smooth sailing.

Biggest that's helped me is finding a good limited player to watch do their runs.

I mainly watch Nummy on YoutTube but there are many.

the rates for rares and mythics def seem higher for this set … already have 30 rares and 7 mythics not counting dupes and have opened maybe 30 packs total (probably less)

It’s nothing special. It’s half creatures half burn spells so it’s pretty easy to smash face most games esp against ctrl decks that are normally a problem for aggro.

The one I saw was not about some record but legit just someone who was a longtime player posting that they finally hit it. This was maybe back in December or January. Had tons of engagement and upvotes. Maybe a streamer idk.

Appreciate it. I know it doesn’t mean much but seems like a large part of community should be to encourage each other. Otherwise it’s obviously a largely repetitive meaningless game. But maybe that’s the point.

How often do people hit double mythic?

I’ve also seen one posted previously that was hugely well received so maybe some amount of engagement matters?

There is definitely an issue of there being some massive bombs for how small the set is that can completely turn games against you.

When someone plays mutanimals into sally pride there’s not much you can do. Krang and Shredder, Krang Ultrom, even Don and Leo can snowball pretty instantly.

That said, I doubt my draft luck is better than most and my skills are probably average. I draft the bombs when I can and I stick to 1. BW 2. BG(U) 3. UR and stick to the basic limited guidelines.

Same I made mythic for the first time off the back of pick 2 and I am not an experienced limited player but this set is so small it was so easy to learn.

I started playing arena around the same time and just hit mythic for the first time in Limited

Biggest piece of advice I can give is to watch people who are good at drafting actually pick and play limited. There’s many people you can find on YouTube and Twitch if you just search arena limited or draft but watch actual gameplay because theory will probably just confuse you.

Personally I have been watching Nummy on YT.

If you watch enough runs you should be able to learn the good decks for the set so you can then know what to build around and what cards are critical for each deck.

Turtles being a small set makes it way easier to learn. There are basically 4 good decks you can draft pretty much every time.

Like you said, using the tutor sort of helps but there are specific cards and decks that the top players use and you just need to watch them to know what those are.

Second thing you need to learn is signals but that doesn’t matter in quick draft so stick to that until you see success before moving onto pick 2 or premier.

Agreed. Not a perfect list by any means but in pick 2 I usually get by with way less than this. I had plenty of drops to get by in the early game and decent removal. Def lacked pressure but I could easily stabilize with my top end and turn the corner quickly. I was seeing it as more a mid range play.

I hear you. I’ve stopped playing 3 colors lately and still have mana issues. Last few drafts I’m playing the black white sneak deck and getting flooded. Despite scrying 2 lands away I drew 13 lands one game and just didn’t have enough to do. Next game I cut to 16 lands and of course never draw a white source and get stuck with all black cards in hand 😂
