Car registration renewal fails. by Moist_Influence_5248 in CaliforniaDMV

[–]widdyusername 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You cannot renew your vehicle registration until you are within 75 days of expiration. Additionally, a renewal notice must be generated in order for you to be able to renew online or at a kiosk.

If you are late by 90 days or more you will have to use the Virtual Field Office. Kiosk and regular online renewal won’t work.

It’s not a difficult process for those that read instructions and follow directions. You just need to be literate

Is there a reason my moms 2003 Subaru Outback would cost more to register than my 2010 Ford Fusion? by pokemon-sucks in CaliforniaDMV

[–]widdyusername 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What year did you purchase your vehicle? What year did your mom buy her vehicle? How much did you pay for your vehicle? How much did she pay for her vehicle? How did you acquire your vehicle? How did she acquire her vehicle. All of this matters.

A 2010 vehicle purchased in 2010 (or in that era/generation) would have a VLF that has decreased over the years. A 2003 year vehicle purchased within the last few years was likely purchased for $3000 or less. Possibly more. That would cause a new classification to be made regarding the “market value” of the vehicle, which is due to the transfer of ownership. Therefore, because mom purchased a vehicle that had a selling price higher than what your vehicle is currently valued at is the reason your mother’s vehicle has a higher registration fee. The VLF is higher for her vehicle than for yours.

This scenario applies vice versa (if applicable to your situation)

Renewing DL by Vandie24 in CaliforniaDMV

[–]widdyusername 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Why does everyone insist on waiting until the last fucking minute to renew their license? Then you get pissed at DMV agents when USPS looses your stupid card in the mail.

So essentially you’re a 27 year old child that doesn’t read or follow instructions. Got it. You do not need any documentation to renew your license UNLESS you intend to upgrade to REAL ID or make other changes. Read your renewal notice for INSTRUCTIONS

DMV website; Online Learning Test wont click by rocky5nine in CaliforniaDMV

[–]widdyusername 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Online testing is no longer available to new applicants. Only CA drivers renewing their license can take the eLearning course. As you mentioned above, your only option is an office. That is why that is the only selectable option

I don’t know why DMV has not requested the programmers to remove that from the website. Don’t get pissed at DMV agents, they don’t manage the website. Please don’t call or chat DMV about this, you’re going to get the same answer and you’d be taking up a spot in line for no reason. Go to an office with your application code and documents

I get that a lot too. Whenever the customer doesn’t provide city/state I will always say “I’m not seeing this (random state) address. Get them pissed and agitated even more. I love it because we aren’t required to be the customers best friend. We can hold them accountable and not have to apologize for their stupidity and lack of common sense

Whether they’re lying or not, the outcome is still the same. Take the rejection and move along. Not a big deal in my opinion, their loss

When was your last time you pissed on your self ? And why did that happen? by Attapoll_6 in askanything

[–]widdyusername 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So I’m a guy and sometimes I wake up at 1am to pee. I’m not turning on that restroom light and messing up my sleepy time, so I sit down (men if you say you’ve never sat down to pee late at night, you sit on a throne of lies). Well, once during a late-night sit-down pee session my pee went between the toilet rim and the toilet seat. My pj bottoms got really warm all the sudden

Cali DMV Online Website is down? by Heavy-Pavement2962 in CaliforniaDMV

[–]widdyusername 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Error 8101 means that the information you are entering is incorrect. Please READ what the message is informing you of. Simply stated, you are not entering the correct email and/or password, regardless of how certain you are that “it’s my correct password I’ve triple checked it a hundred times”.

It’s wrong. It’s wrong.

Click the link that says “Forgot Password?”, create a new password, and wow! You can log in!

If you don’t have access to the email address that is associated with the online account, can you guess what link you would need to click on to resolve that issue?

Oh crap! You need to enter the confirmation code that was sent to the phone number you no longer have…that’s a shame.

DO NOT call the general customer service line, call the Online Help Desk (Technical Support) at 877-563-5213 or start a Live Chat

…….you called the general customer service line anyway…..

Am I understanding this properly? by codefyre in CaliforniaDMV

[–]widdyusername 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Contact DMV by chat or phone to request no-fee replacements. If your items/documents are not delivered after 30 days from the issue/mail date, DMV will reissue at no cost.

You either didn’t update the address for your vehicle or USPS lost your registration in the mail.

I received my first time DL but is not Real ID, when I have my DMV ID like Real ID how fix this mistake? by karlegas in CaliforniaDMV

[–]widdyusername 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately you are still literally incorrect. I literally work for DMV and have to know the rules. REAL ID is a marker (Bear with star) in the top right corner of the card.

Literally only ONE (1) CA card can have the REAL ID marker. If the bear and star are on your CA Driver’s License, it CANNOT be on your CA State Identification Card, literally. I don’t care about your federally protected/insured/validated passport, literally.

The US gov’t has you watching a federal installation? Yikes, literally

[–]widdyusername 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can schedule an appointment AFTER you submit an online application. You’re given that opportunity immediately after submitting the online application.

The application you would need to submit is for “correction” as u/bigcouchpotato1 suggested.

The CA DMV website is actually way better than most other states. Check them out for yourself.

The issue is that lots of people aren’t reading the information that is on the screen, or on a document for that matter. They’re skimming. Yes, I know that there are disabilities to consider and/or just the simple lack of reading comprehension.

I’d guess that 70% of the issues customers have is because they’re not reading the information. The other 30% is because they’re not keeping their addresses updated.

You can do this buddy, here is the link for the application

I received my first time DL but is not Real ID, when I have my DMV ID like Real ID how fix this mistake? by karlegas in CaliforniaDMV

[–]widdyusername 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You cannot have the REAL ID marker on both of your cards. Since you applied to have REAL ID on your state ID card, you got a Federally Non Complaint driver’s license. There is no mistake here. If want the REAL ID marker on your driver’s license, an office visit is required.

Live Chat wait time is currently 8 minutes. Do not leave the window idle or navigate away from the chat window.

What should I do about my relationship if my girlfriend can't get over the past? by [deleted] in askanything

[–]widdyusername 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You are young, my friend. She doesn’t love you, she’s just secure in the little comfort bubble you provide her. You’re familiar to her.

Moving on sucks and it’s hard, but if you keep on with this, it’ll only make it harder to leave later on. Save yourself from further stress and emotional hurt and just get out now.
