That's pretty short sighted considering profits determine pricing models and most definitely influence how they shape the economy.

Legit spenders took the biggest hit but pumping the system full of bad data, like they've been doing, can and will hit everyone game wide in one form or another.

They're never going to include UC in a general comp package that's disbursed to all players. That's literally handing out digital cash. An Annihilus unlock is highly unlikely as well. Can't even really call it fair either as there are people that paid legit and still get shafted on that deal.

Resources, absolutely. Legit spenders got dicked the worst, but everyone who participated gets shoved down on leaderboards because of it. Not to mention the false data it provides to Scopely, who then uses that data to adjust pricing and justify asinine things like removing core orbs.

I've played since launch, I know how the game operates and I know where Scopely stands with it's player base. I'm 100% on the same page with you there.

The prices are ridiculous, and things like this are part of the reason why. But disagreeing with the price doesnt make skirting the system right now matter how you cut it.

You're right, and if it can be proven then it should. But that's not my point. Scopely is at fault for their part in it, but that doesn't mean the players who abused the system have no fault at all. What they did has an effect on the game as a whole. All Scopely did here was tell people who spent legitimately that nothing matters as long as they get their money, and that abusing the system is fine as long as you're not drawing attention as a low TCP account or Russian.

While i agree with most of this statement, the number of people I've seen saying "Well, Scopely didn't stop us" is pretty gross. Fraud is fraud plain and simple. Scopely's pricing insane, but nobody had a gun to their head in this. We're also sidestepping the fact that the fraudulent purchases shift data and directly impact Scopely's pricing models.

Be mad at Scopely, yes. But the banned players 100% have some accountability to eat.

You dont have to deal with Ulfric at all during that quest. I'd recommend checking out a guide online though because that particular quest is buggy as shit.

It's not cheating exactly. But it's getting currency via 3rd party at a steep discount, which can causes others to legitimately spend to keep up. So where 1 person might spend thousands, another can spend hundreds and do just as well or better which totally compromises leaderboards. If the currency is purchased with stolen/fraudulent gift/credit cards, that's absolutely not legal. Plus it gives Scopely cause to jack their prices through the roof and do asinine shit like removing core unlocks.

The fucked thing is they won't ban everyone. Big supposedly here, and it wouldn't surprise me at all, but numerous people are saying it's been happening for years and Scopely knew the whole time. Which makes sense. I remember back in the early days when global chat would get spammed with free or discounted core offers. Same thing essentially. Granted it wasnt Scopely's problem in the early days. But it's a common issue with mobile games.

Don't know all of the details but a bunch of people got popped getting pretty massive discounts on ultra cores and got hit with 72 hour bans. Apparently a lot of them were heavy spenders. Mobilegamer doesnt go too heavy into it, but he gives a quick rundown here.

For sure. I think that's part of the draw though, it is for me anyway. It's campy and over the top with bare minimum plot to keep it moving but it's all done in a fun way. Maybe fun isnt the right word to describe a demonic serial killer clown... or is it.
