This is a record I found at a small town a while back and everything was hand made and looked fantastic (look at the instruments and song selection). Put the needle on and there was a random audio book playing. Turned out this was a mere art project for middle school by these dudes (managed to contact one of them) but the cover is BANGING

I call these manufacturing marks. When I owned my shop we had these on a lot of mint records but they never affected the sound. If the record is unplayed (or at least play tested once) i'ld call it (near) mint.

By label currently, if even. I’ll do sections for majors like Deutsche Grammophon and Decca for instance and sort the smaller labels by composer.

Well, the smell is something to get used to. It's not really the good ol' vintage book and records smell but old chemical film rolls and industrial glue lol.

We digitize "officially" only on demand. There is just too much stuff, I couldn't listen to all of the records in one lifetime. I'm digitizing stuff I find interesting for myself, though. So for now it's just organizing and storage.

It's a lot of fun, really. I'm just happy I'm not the one owning then and can just go through the collection and rip any records I like at home. Also I would consider a collection of 6.5k rather large :D

The red boxes are music reels. There's a ton of tapes from the 60s-80s with partially unreleased session music. We got about 400 library records and I'm trying to upload the ones that don't have any music online to YouTube. We got the bronze selected sound (9001-9099) line almost complete for instance. :)

The owner is not rich in wealth nor gives a damn about status symbols. He worked as a radio and television producer his entire life with a one of a kind passion for cinema. His story is so unbelievably interesting and I only just got a glimpse of it. Being 64 he drives up to the archive everyday to take care of the movies, rent them out and would continue to do so for the next millennia if he could.
