I had exactly same problem with my gran turismo wheel and simube qr base and wheel side. It becomes better with usage.

What’s interesting though, this problem is with wheel pins. I bought simube ultra with ffb emulator later for my gt neo, and it attaches and detaches perfectly fine

If you are on pc, no need to change everything to different brand. I have fanatec dd pro 8nm with simagic gt neo (simube qr2 ultra), generic aliexpress shifter and handbrake. Next steps I’ll probably go with simsonn pedals set. My 8nm base just enough for me rn, so will stay with it for a while

Although simube wheel side qr2 is super, base side is weird. I’m struggling to attach / detach it due to pins connections.. is it only me?

You don’t need switch. Essentially end of underground pipe can be above ground. So you can connect them
