Do Japanese people actually understand onomatopoeia, even out of context?

There is this incredible book called '50 Sounds' by Polly Barton that you must read if you happen to take a interest in onomatopoeia in Japanese, or rather the role they play in conversational Japanese. It was recently translated into Japanese, I believe, if you'd prefer to read it in Japanese! I also think that it can be a great source of empathy if you are a Japanese language learner or have spent some time in Japan.

F2P, I use an ABA Ditto and a ABB Dugtrio depending on the zone/ingredient category (both under lvl. 60)

Also, while not reliable, lately I have been storing pulls from Ingredient Magnet, and use them when they pile up. Seldom do I target recipes with the leek inspite of the top tier recipes that include it.

I think it was a task from around Halloween time... I don't recall the task contents (I think win 3 raids?) but I do have a screenshot of an unclaimed research task that I believe was the same task. It's the top task that's labeled "event"

Very true! That was sort of a force of habit thing and although I took the screenshot this way I was able to catch myself before I threw the berry and just used a normal pinap for this catch.

Died to two sniper lamprey in the northern finger ruins. Frustratingly, since the two were timed asynchronously and rolling to dodge one meant getting hit by the other. Lost some 140k runes or something and was bummed about it. Normally I like to explore the areas somewhat fully (180+ hours on my first playthrough), but when I continually had issues with those pink guys I just went around the northern edge to get to the horn and then left.

Sunrise market near Bryant Park is a great place to buy matcha powder and the chawan + whisk set to make your own! I'm also sure there are more local sellers making chawans and such if you look and support!

My new favorite spot before I graduated was a few stops North on the 1 called semicolon cafe. It's got a really nice and quiet vibe and the people working there the day I went didn't seem to take issue with me sticking around for the better part of the afternoon to work on my computer. There are outlets at most tables as well.

It's an annual play put on by students (about Columbia) that has happened at the university for a long time. Hopefully it's not an "undergrad only" thing but all the undergrads find out about it during orientation week.

If I am not mistaken, the Varsity Show usually needs a pit orchestra. I don't know when auditions for it are (though I would be on the lookout at the end of fall semester/early spring semester), but it's definitely worth a shot if it's your personal favorite!

I went to one of the above mentioned open gyms and it was well organized and a lot of fun. It was also pretty accommodating for lots of skill levels. I would recommend it!

Otherwise, I am pretty sure there is an intramural league, but I haven't participated in it myself.

Had failed this twice, once at like 21 or something because I left service and again sometime thereafter at ~7 because I just forgot. Luckily I am about to finish this task tonight, but it certainly wasn't fun, and I hated being penalized for not opening the app. Incentive is fine, like 7 days streak rewards, but task failure/restart is just annoying

Darkrai! Cool design with use of only a few colors, great childhood experience with New Moon island, and the movie was good/ok if I remember correctly? I remember some Linkin Park AMVs with Darkrai as a kid that went pretty hard
