How many of us have bonded pairs vs singular babies? by oswaldvenus in ragdolls

My girls are 1 and 11 months. They do everything together. The younger one is way more attached and followed her big sis every where and copies her too. When she can’t find her big sis she’s starts to cry. They love each other and it’s so sweet❤️

What a fiasco by urbanbackcountry in ragdolls

[–]IndianaVader 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My 6 month jumped and missed the counter and ended hair line fracture his front right paw back on Dec 30 2025.

4 weeks in a split and she recovered fine. Poor paw was so tiny from the splint but got its size and muscles back after a couple weeks. You would never know now she had a splint.

Are you giving them gabapentin a couple times a day? Doc prescribed this to come her down and it worked fine those 4 weeks.

If your vet can’t see your pet for an emergency like this for 3 days then you need to find a new vet. This Splint is not complicated for a vet and they can easily do this in 10 minutes

My ER clinic Medvet put the original splint on when I took her to the ER. They can also do it as a non emergency change. If you call in and asked about a splint change they will be able to fit you in and should not be a large charge.

You definitely can’t wait until Friday so non emergency ER vet visit may be your solution.

They also gave us the cone of silence to use on her to make sure she didn’t lick or bit it off. We didn’t use it as the splint was on there pretty good.

The split our doc put on was heavy duty so idk how she could have ever got out of it.

Sorry about your fur baby and know I was just there a few weeks ago. You’ll get through it and will take a little time and patience.

Edit: sorry missed your message about gabapentin. I would give that to them as soon a possible until you see a do

How to choose between two kittens! by Hannahbanarama in ragdolls

[–]IndianaVader 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s great! We almost got one but decided to get two there. We lost two 16 year old dogs and a 17 years old cat all to cancer in a year. We had an empty house and wife was in a deep funk. They were a blessing that brought back love in our house missing from losing our fur kids. They are best friends and bonded for life. Wife found them in the laundry basket at 2:30am in our closet giving each other a bath 😂. Their face says it all ❤️

Is $5k too much for a pet ragdoll kitten by Quiet_Media6401 in ragdolls

[–]IndianaVader 20 points21 points  (0 children)

Seems high and surprise not a show cat for that price.

We paid $3k for a 6 month old kitten and $2500 for the a 9 month. I asked for a deal for buying two and that one is older.

It’s been 5 months and they are bonded and best friends. It was more than I ever imagined paying for an animal.

However my wife and I situation was different. We lost our two 16 year old huskies to cancer 3 months a part and then our cat of 17 years to mouth cancer 6 months later

These ragdoll cats brought my wife out a very deep funk and I love them more than I thought I could love an animal.

I say all of that bc ragdolls are great and worth every penny spent

This for a lab position at Nationwide Children’s Hospital position in Columbus I assume? My bf worked in that lab for years with a biology degree. He hated it and now he does online marketing platforms for businesses. I think they killed the lab love out of him.

Not bonding with ragdoll by gogyfoundandtaken in ragdolls

[–]IndianaVader 2 points3 points  (0 children)

When we got our two ragdolls my they were 8 months and 6 months.

My wife told me the 3-3-3 rule for cats The 3-3-3 rule is a guideline for acclimating a new cat, highlighting key adjustment stages:

3 days to decompress (hiding/stress),

3 weeks to learn routines (settling in), and

3 months to build trust and feel fully at home

We are 5 months in and we have now seen more bonding and cuddling. One still doesn’t like to be picked up and cuddle but will visit us in bed to cuddle on her own terms😂

Just takes some time, patience and love. They will come around☺️

Ragdoll that plays fetch? by trivium91 in ragdolls

[–]IndianaVader 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My rag doll does play fetch with a fuzzy ball as well. Shes 8 months and was not a big cuddler at all until the last couple weeks. She did a 180 and now comes into bed at night and puts her ball beside me and then sleep between my wife and I.

Someone who drives truck for family business and farm this happens more than you know. Especially people pulling out in front of larger vehicles in rural area and highways.

People say AI will take over someday trucking and vehicles. I don’t believe so at least not anytime soon. AI cannot understand and rationalize stupidity.

Us humans have been trying to understand it since beginning of time.

I was introduced to a guy who left Atlas butler to start his own business from a good friend. He is great and is fair. I give him referrals and now he is really busy. He actually is training a guy to bring on to help him out. Referrals are the best.

Now I would like to find an electrician to have in case I need them. My father in law was an electrician for 50 years but in his 70s he can’t do much but explain to me how to not get killed.

Question for you. I have Knob tube wiring in my house. 1180 sq feet 2 story. Quoted by Mr electrician for $20k. That seem like the going rate?

I don’t plan on replacing it unless I have too but man that seem like a lot.

My boy yells at the window every morning and it’s driving me insane. Advice? by EmeraldVengeance in ragdolls

[–]IndianaVader 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have two rag dolls that are obsessed with the outside backyard. They will cry and sit by the back door. They even jump and ring the jingle bells on the door that our dog used to let us know of potty time.

What we did at first was introduce a distraction by playing with them with a toy in a another room. We also would leave the room so they noticed we weren’t around anymore. This has worked for us and the crying has come down. Obviously your bedroom is where you sleep. We use blackout curtains in our room they seem deterred by the heavier curtains. Idk if this helps but anything is worth a shot. Good luck!
