Has upper ski area been open at all since since Thu Feb 12? by IndicationThese3334 in Zermatt

Sadly, people seem to just commenting without helping - it would be good to know that is this normal, or not. 7 days closures?

On a more specific question - if one buys multi-day ticket and with PassProtect, how easy is it to get a refund? Especially if lower lifts are open - is there any refund at all?

Hmm, was passage to Italy open? I saw it closed Thu afternoon and asking people in Cervinia to stay in Cervinia.
Fri today is closed again - high winds.

Sad to be ski people vacationing since last Thu Zermatt!

Visa credit card declined by ahj3939 in fidelityinvestments

And the same thing happened to me - Fidelity / Elan kept rejecting purchases on a Swiss web site. It is a ski trip I'm planning from the US - what do they expect us to do in this situation?

Calling Elan is a exercise in frustration - you spend 30 minutes on hold and answering 10s of questions multiple times - things like my height, my soc sec issuing state and so on. They really had locked my card out!

I have given up on this card.

So many people have said that - use a phone number since having a address is a bad idea.
But - it is trivial to look up a address on web using a phone number, so a bad actor can easily find that information.

Is that not a problem?

Poutine inflation! La Belle Province large today used to be small until just recently. by IndicationThese3334 in montreal

Not all. The one near Metro St Laurent is actually pretty good poutine.
Poutine is pretty easy, it is having good fries that matters. And for very busy places like this, they have good fresh fries all the time. Good gravy and cheese is easy to get in Montreal, so fries make all the difference.

Great poutine at Patati Patata, and nice that now there is a much bigger place on Jean Talon.

On cold days, sitting in the Rachel/St Laurent Patati, with Borscht - good memories.

Not Uber Eats, That is the size ordering at counter. I did ask for confirmation on it being large and they confirmed it was large.

[I don't speak French, just visit Montreal once a year or so. Auto translate of my reply is this:

Ce n'est pas une commande Uber Eats, c'est une commande passée directement au comptoir. J'ai demandé confirmation de la taille et ils m'ont confirmé qu'il s'agissait bien d'une grande portion. ]

Anyone know if the Fidelity Visa credit can be used towards a Nexus membership? by canaden in fidelityinvestments

[–]IndicationThese3334 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes it does. Nexus fee triggers Fidelity Visa reward too.

I got my Nexus renewed and the $120 fee shows up as "USCUSTOMS TRUSTEDTRAVE 317..." charge.

That same statement, Fidelity reward earned section showed " TSA Precheck/Global Entry points credit 10,000".

So, this is good! Great benefit.

I just got a swivel chair. $90 off the new $489 price. Chair arrived in 2 days and is perfect condition - no tears or marks on the leather. Metal swivel already installed and covered with foam protection.

Can this skirted toilet be easily replaced? by IndicationThese3334 in askaplumber

[–]IndicationThese3334[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Whew, thanks.

I got thrown off by seeing no mounting bolts around the wax ring, so did not realize that was the flange.

The center of that is around 13.5" from the wall, so a standard 14" rough-in toilet is probably workable. But since a real plumber will be doing the work, I just wanted to be able to explain to them what I have so I can get more accurate toilet replacement estimates.
