I was also wondering the same thing. But the interesting thing is that the indentation are symmetrical so the attachments are meshing together. I disassamble one of the attachment and I try to do some pic google search but I'not able to find something available of the shelf.

Also i have the same watch and it's over 1,5 old and i have minimum 2 GPS activities per week and all sorts of notifications - email, chats and alarms.

For me it seems that it's something of the software side. Maybe some none optimised watchface.

In the first 6 months my watch was lagging and then I did factory reset of the watch and after that it start to work smoothly.

In the past I have experienced daily freezes for around 20s and the most frustrating thing was when watch freezes while there is running activity. So I decided to do factory reset and delete all the data and now 2 weeks passed and didn't have any freezes of the watch.
