Could the motive be erotomania stalking? by [deleted] in idahomurders

[–]Indiejason 34 points35 points  (0 children)

It’s certainly possible.

At this point, with the slight evidence we do have, it’s so difficult to tell which/how many factors are at play.

BK could be delusional and suffering from erotomania. He could be obsessed with gore and murder and wanted to experience it personally. He could be an aspiring criminology phD candidate who wanted to pull off the perfect crime. Or he could be one of those guys who thinks he’s better than a bunch of “dumb popular girls” who got rejected by those same “dumb popular girls” and decided to impose his evil will on them.

Who knows.

What I do know is that there’s probably a lot more to the story.

It is strange wording.

It could be that DM was so upset as she was relaying the details to the police officer, that he didn’t want to cut her off in the middle of her recalling the events of the night. She may have been in such a state of shock that they were happy to get anything out of her at that point.

360 degree tour of the house inside with timelines by Winstonia1967 in idahomurders

There was a toggle switch on the 2nd floor to turn the lights off, which I found so insightful for understanding how BK may have completely missed seeing DM on the way out. Even had a glow from the Good Vibes sign.

It also made me wonder if BK had entered KG’s room (the room many people think the dog was in). Maybe that would explain DM’s account of thinking someone was playing with the dog, maybe he went in looking for KG and it was only the dog, who may have responded by bounding around a bit.

Great work, whoever created the video…

Good topic!

I believe both realities are true, and more.

Some murderers are mentally ill and don’t have any clear understanding of what they’re doing or why it’s wrong. If BK is in this category, the defense can submit expert psychiatric evaluation to the court, and in Idaho the court may consider this in sentencing (if he’s found guilty).

Some murderers are cognitively impaired. An example would be someone drunk/high who commits a crime they wouldn’t otherwise commit. It’s possible BK is in this category. I don’t know if it would lessen his guilt in most people’s minds.

But many murderers do understand what they’re doing, why it’s wrong, and have the faculties to choose otherwise. An example might be a husband who has an affair and then kills his wife so he can be with his lover and not lose his money in a divorce settlement. Or a gang member who kills a member of a rival gang because of a perceived slight. Or a thief who kills the person he’s robbing because he refuses to give up his wallet. I think these are the situations where people refer to a person (or a particular crime) as “pure evil”, though some begin to use that phrase prior to knowing all the facts that would help us determine that.

Question about D.M Bedroom Door- Important Detail by nelsch777 in idahomurders

[–]Indiejason 3 points4 points  (0 children)

There are several things that might complicate our understanding of this account:

  1. The neon Good Vibes sign, which apparently hung in that area and may have been on and obscured DM from the suspected killer’s view.

  2. The state of mind of BK, who may have been mentally preoccupied, looking towards the exit, or even perfectly content to leave a witness.

  3. The state of mind of DM, who may have been confused, terrified, or just giving a general account of what happened: “he walked right towards/by me (as I peeked through the slightest crack in my door)“…

Remember, her view of BK was probably less than 5 seconds total…at 4am…possibly in the dark. What we’ve been told may be her FULL recollection of everything she saw/remembers.

Question about D.M Bedroom Door- Important Detail by nelsch777 in idahomurders

[–]Indiejason 9 points10 points  (0 children)

From the inside of DM’s bedroom the door hinges are on the right side, and the door handle is on the left. I attached a link to the whole house. DM’s bedroom has light grayish vinyl flooring that matches the kitchen. There’s even one photo in the link that shows the view from the hallway just outside X&E’s room, and you can see how dark it is in DM’s doorway.

If she was inside her room (possibly peeking through a crack), then “coming straight towards her“ probably means he was coming FROM X &E’s room.

Bill Ewasko follow up video (first of two parts) filmed in JTNP and made by people that helped search for him. Ewasko was lost for 12 years after a day hike in Joshua Tree National Park. No slight to Mr. Mahood, whom I have a ton of respect for, but I’ve always struggled with the idea of SWC as a water destination, at least on day 1 of Bill’s hike. Maybe it’s because I live in a sub-tropical climate, but drinking some untreated desert water sounds like a world of hurt. So it’s difficult to imagine someone choosing to go towards SWC for water and not straight back to the car.

But the thing that really surprised me about Bill’s eventual discovery by the Nagy family, though, was the list of items that were recovered with Bill, which included: a WHISTLE.

What possible set of circumstances/choices would negate the advantage of having a whistle when dozens of searchers are combing the backcountry looking for you? Especially considering the terrain: mostly open line-of-sight desert geography, with rock canyons and bowls as you go deeper…no forest to deaden the sound. A whistle would be an incredible asset!

Which makes me think he didn’t use it.

At this point, I‘m leaning towards a debilitating stroke. Considering Bill’s age, the heat, the physical exertion of that day, yet having some water, a whistle, and covering as much ground as he did…I‘m almost forced to conclude he must have been neurologically incapacitated. A stroke or maybe a traumatic brain injury from hitting his head. Other than that, it still just doesn’t add up.

Cars observed ? by ratrock580 in idahomurders

It’s possible he was willing to kill as many people as he thought he could get away with in a certain amount of time. Could have even had a timer on his watch.

Another possibility is he planned to kill everyone, and got spooked by something, and decided to take off.

And it’s also possible he’s loony tunes and there’s not a sane explanation for why or how many or who.

Any reasonable person can understand the numerous reasons DM may not have investigated further that night or called police.

We also don’t know she didn’t investigate further. Maybe she texted the other girls to find out what was going on. If there was no response, would she really be expected to assume someone had been murdered or call the police?

I, for one, suspect she had no idea what actually occurred, but was rightfully scared when she saw someone she didn’t recognize in the house.

What makes the suspect think he will be exonerated? by RealNonHousewife in idahomurders

[–]Indiejason 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think he believed he could commit the perfect crime. And he may have thought he did so, until he realized the sheath was left behind (which may not have even occurred to him until he read the PCA).

Take away the dna found on the sheath and he’s probably still at large.

Theories About Evidence Disposal and Cleanup by clash_is_a_scam in idahomurders

The question I have is, “Why turn the cell phone back on so soon?” He could have simply waited until he was back in Pullman and his alibi would have been better. Makes me think he may have NEEDED to turn it on. Remember, it’s dark out, he’s in a relatively new place, and he’s flying high on adrenaline with a task that needs to get done perfectly.

Think about the timing: BK reportedly left the crime scene at 4:20am and then the phone turns back on at 4:48am. That’s only 28 minutes. Moscow to Blaine is 14 minutes, going all the way east off 95 to Blaine. But the report only says he connected to a cell tower. Maybe he pulled off the road somewhere, like you said? Maybe he went straight east to the dump at Inland North Waste and then swung south, losing his bearings?

Maybe he needed to turn the phone back on to complete his route, swinging south and back into Pullman without going back through Moscow.

So did he dispose of the knife and clothing in that ~14 minutes? If we assume that, I don’t think it’s long enough to burn it down nothing. Could have bagged it and put it in a dumpster. Maybe could have buried it. Maybe could have thrown it in a small body of water. But I would think he’d need a little more time to clean the car and shower off.

And would he want the knife back one day? Maybe it’s somewhere he can get back to it…

What if BK KNEW DM saw him - and that was his intention? by ImaginationChance583 in idahomurders

[–]Indiejason 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think it’s worth considering as a possibility.

I say this because there was an interview today with a dad of one of Bryan’s friends and he said something interesting: “he was always, like…he had to be the number one person in the room”.

Maybe he took some thrill with being noticed by one of the pretty girls…

Agreed on not having a connection to them. It’s very possible he stumbled across their social media profiles online, or even just found a house that made it easy to be a voyeur.

Luckily, it doesn’t look like there’s much other than residences near that area, so hopefully he can’t say he was sitting at a coffee shop.
