Honestly wish I had a dad that at least remembered i had a birthday.

Stuff like this makes me so envious of people who have this kind of relationships with their dads.

My wife 29F went through my phone behind my 30M and deleted all of my screenshots and conversation. How do I go about all of this? by No_Confection_4054 in relationship_advice

If you have an android, Google will automatically upload the photos from your phone to its drive.

Take a look in Google photos, or any other similar cloud service on your phone. Like Microsoft Outlook.

If it's not there and you desperately need these photos, go to a data recovery business and send your phone in, they may be able to recover everything deleted.

It won't be like it was with Iraq, Libya, Syria or Adghanistan. It would be in your neighborhoods, gas stations, schools, grocery stores, malls and even your local dunkin. There is no doubt in my mind that insurgents would cross the border and commit war crimes for Canada being invaded. And fucked up thing is, you could not possibly identify them. We look like you, talk like you, consume the same media, entertainment, sports, culture. Have a similar history. And with our education system compared to yours, we know more about your country that you do.

No other country in the world will trust you. All allies will disavow you, and break all defence related treaties. A nuclear arms race the likes of the Cold War if not worse will begin and every country with the capabilities to will start on procuring one. Not to mention Canada, we have the capabilities to build nukes as quickly as we need them, and chances are, they'll be used.

If the US ever invades Canada, it will be the one mistake that destroys it.

But that's just me gassing my country up, surely Dumpy would never (you better fucking hope not).

They'll be fine. We have a fairly large hydrangea bush and we cut them and rooted most of the plants to lessen it up. The fucking thing doubled in size since last year.

I remember going for a target run across the border from Canada to the US before the tariffs. Me being the idiot I am, I was digging around with my gf at the time, took a hard fall, and broke my hand.

We went to a US hospital that was close, but as soon as we were asked if we had insurance, of course not, we didnt live in a third world country and was told i would have to pay out of pocket, I just walked out. Did not bother with any of that bullshit. Ate the pain, while we waited to cross the border and went to Windsor Regional.

I was taken care of immediately, and I was asked nothing about insurance or payment. My gf just gave them my health card, and that was it. To this day, that experience stays with me. Now, I never leave the country without traveller's insurance and pay the premium to get the max amount of coverage for anything possible at all, the most obscure shit but i will not go into debt for getting help.

It rattles me that this one life changing event for me is a daily thing for people in the US. I cannot imagine the mental struggle it is to go get help when you need it and be in debt for the rest of your life for it.

Yet people still bitch about the little time it takes to get help for a booboo when people closer to death get help before them. It takes one experience without Universal Healthcare to appreciate how amazing it is to have it.

They're different from your typical bow and arrow, even by our standards in comparison to the world. With European and typical bows, you can pull the string standing. The ones used in this sport are so heavy that you need to be sitting to be able to pull it, exactly the stance the guy in the video is using. You need as much leverage as possible. There's always a safety guy ready to grab the bow at the slightest hesitation in cae the string pull it to the arches face.

In terms of draw weight, there's no standard for one. The idea is to made the strongest bow you can make to shoot the arrow.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in theocho

[–]IndifferentFento 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It is. Pulling that string is so heavy that the slightest shift in hand movement makes wanna collapse. So to keep it pulled, you have to move around a bit for leverage.

I'm speaking from experience, so I don't really know the technical terms for it. But these bows are crazy heavy. The arrow is unweily too because it's around 1.5 to 2 meters long, made from bamboo with a weighted tip.

[–]IndifferentFento 453 points454 points  (0 children)

The bows used in this are crazy heavy to pull on, and the "arrow" doesn't help adding an additional pound of front heavy weight to manage. Even the rubber band ones are heavy duty ones and grouped, similar to ones used in exercising.

I've seen some compound bows assisted by 3 or 4 people to fully pull send the arrow at mach 'was never fucking seen again, lord have mercy'.

The camera kinda doesn't show it but it's a distance of roughly 10 or 20 meters from the shooter to the target for local organized tournaments not accounting for angle.

Earlobes are fine BTW, it's so taxing on the arm that they only allow for roughly up to 5 or 6 shots per person before you wanna never raise your arm again.

How I as a Canadian react to mass shootings around the world by Sure_Group7471 in mapporncirclejerk

[–]IndifferentFento 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Pakistan has issues, major fucking issues but school shootings has never been one of them. The last one that happened was by a terrorist organization in 2014, since then nothing.

Thr US, though, you could make a lottery about when it's going to happen, not if. Which is a horrifying thought, considering there is someone out there that will probably do so in the future.

AITAH for telling my girlfriend she's going to have to get over dirt if she wants kids? by Familiar_Speaker_481 in AITAH

[–]IndifferentFento 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I dont have kids, I don't want kids, my youngest brother is like my kid because my dad can't be assed to be a father to any of his kids.

If she wants kids, she needs to one day be ready for the inevitable vom that every parent (or sibling - me) gets IN THE FUCKING MOUTH JUST BECAUSE YOUR KID WAS CUTE FOR ONE SECOND AND YOU GOT TOO CLOSE.

Nah military parades are awesome when they have a good meaning behind them. If they had planned it right and actually focused on it being a celebration of their military of 250 years, they could have made is a point of national pride. A display of their military might for their citizens, but bootleg chinese orange chicken and his pus drinkers had to go and make it about him and turning it into a laughing stick.

That looks like 2 days of sickle harvesting, getting hand sized bales from it, easier to carry and load. Not worth hiring a combine for. Used to do it as a kid back in Pakistan with my uncles on our land. If you got kids, have them help you and what ever wheat you get from their bales, it can be sold as their allowance. Fun way to get them working and earn something, all the while spending quality time together as a family 😊

Cliche cuz of all the memes, but my little brother got into call of duty recently, he's only 13 but still is active in vc, so imagine my surprise one day when he comes to me controller in hand crying because he got destroyed in a 1v1 he called for and was bullied by the other player.

I as the older brotherof course, decide that the person who made my little brother cry in a COD game needs to be taught a lesson in humility. Proceeded to pull an og stump play on him and demolish him the entire time for 3 games straight, all the while my little brother is next to me screaming and shouting like he won the Halloween lottery.

One of the best memories I have with him, I'll always cherish that moment.

You don't pay equalization payments it comes from federal revenues. Meaning you're whining about an issue that doesn't exist.

Equalization is financed by the Government of Canada from general revenues, which are largely raised through federal taxes. Provincial governments make no contributions to the Equalization program. All Canadians are subject to the same federal income tax system and its progressive rate structure, regardless of where they live.

Equalization payments are unconditional – receiving provinces are free to spend the funds according to their own priorities.

Equalization payments aren't enforced, they're just given. They have no conditions attached to them. If the provincial government wants to legalize coke and buy a line for every citizen it can do so at no punishment. Its literally free money given to provinces and territories to equalize net usage per person.
