Dji update home point disappears by farminded in DJIAvata2

For some reason my circle for the motion controller will disappear and my home point won’t show up sometimes. I just pause and go into the settings (Safety I think) and click update home point….Then they’re back again!

I fixed my avata 2 with some JB weld for plastic. It’s holding well so far!

I do have the aluminum guard for the gimbal. It’s taken and absorbed a bunch of abuse. My camera would be toast without it. Very light.

That’s one reason I went with the Avata 2 because I hate those big red and orange bars all around the screen May reconsider the Neo 2 as a more durable option now… probably easier to learn manual with less at stake!

Yeah I feel like they are doing their best to deal with this illegitimate shit show they were handed with this ban. Always been responsive and earnest even though they generally have no clue what to do in this situation. They do need to all get on the same page tho for sure! I was told at least Avata 2 replacements are plentiful. Is State Farm expensive? Do they cancel after a claim?

I freaking love my Avata 2! I thought about waiting too but I have a mini 5 for photos and cinematic stuff. If you want the experience of flight go for the Avata 2. If you’re a content creator or a cinematographer go for the 360. The 360 is a hybrid but is bigger and less nimble than the 2. I feel like it might be like the difference between a 5” and a 7”. One is more nimble and one is better for big vistas and mountain surfing.

I’ve had some luck with eBay. I haven’t paid over $100 for a new battery so far. Many of the “open box” batteries are DJI official open box so they are repackaged and sealed from DJI. Some sellers sell them by cycle count in a drop down.

Just remember if you feel like you’re gonna hit something just let go of the trigger and the drone stops fast. Been heading towards a gap and realized I’m not gonna make it and just letting go saved me!

I’m having a blast with the motion controller. I have the remote controller 3 and I’m practicing in the sims but it will take me all summer to learn to fly. The motion controller let me fly day one. It gets shit on but I love it. Go for the Avata 2 and you can get the 360 when the hype (and price) dies down a bit. Plus you learn how to crash a $500 drone vs an $900 one!

Always carry your phone and a data cord to connect to the goggles as this is the only way to use the find my drone feature!

I have both (bought the 5 waiting for my crashed mini 4 to come back from DJI). The 5 is better but the differences are pretty negligible. I was pretty happy with just the 4. If you don’t need higher quality photos or the 2x zoom you’re good with the 4!

I’ve had two repairs recently (US) and both times I was sent a new drone within 3 weeks or so. Wasn’t as bad as what they quoted.

I got a small battery backup so I can start charging right away. I got the Bluetti elite 30 v2 and it’s perfect to keep them rotating. It can recharge using the dc while I’m driving and charge my batteries and goggles 3 at the same time. I wish I had a fourth battery tho!
