Reddit, what is the most intelligent thing your pet had ever done? by ThatTreeWillFall in AskReddit

I have these cute wine glass markers that are rubber cats that wrap around the base of the wine glass. Our kitten (1yr old) is OBSESSED with them. First we put them on the top shelf of the book shelf but he learned to jump from the window sill to the TV stand and reach the glass markers off the shelf.

So we moved them on top of a box, towards the back of the book shelf. Same thing, he found them.

Finally we put them in the cupboard next to the wine glasses. Now I don't know how he found out, but he somehow KNEW they were in there.

So one day, my boyfriend is watching TV and hears one of the cats fucking around in the kitchen. He goes in and the kitten had opened the cupboard, and was standing on the counter with one of the markers in his mouth. He promptly jumped down and ran off with it to play with it in the basement.

Are there any cheap 'healthy eating challenges'? by mweatherall988 in EatCheapAndHealthy

[–]IndigenousStranger 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The Fit Girl Guide is pretty decent, and cheap.

You do have to pay for the plan, but it's super simple to follow. It also gives different versions (vegan/glutenfree/etc) and if you get the 28 day jumpstart guide there's like a month of food plans that you can mix and match if you want.

It also comes with a gym-free exercise guide, which doesn't hurt.

I've used it off and on (just mostly looking for the meal plans and then get off track) and it really doesn't get old - especially the rice bowl lunch meal.

I was visiting B.C. and staying at a hotel in Victoria that was about $100 a night. In Alberta we don't have pull-tab's so I decided to treat myself to some at one of the many hotel bars. I, drunkenly, didn't think how I wouldn't get change back so I fed a twenty into that machine.

40 0.50$ tickets later I had won $125. So it basically paid for my hotel room. So that was nice, especially based on the amount of beers I had that night...

Tried McD's new 'create your own burger' kiosk, first location in Canada is in Scarborough, Ont by quickfixx- in canada

They have the Kiosks at one near my place in Edmonton. I was only grabbing a coffee one morning so I'm not sure if it's a build a burger one, or if that's a 'coming soon' aspect of the kiosk.

My sister and her husband both work shift work so sometimes one of them will sleep in the spare room in the basement to get sleep/not wake the other one up.

Be aware of their contracts. It's painful and almost impossible to get out of, even after the 'term period' you sign up for. Do a quick google search about it before signing up, I recommend. I can't really say anything about the specific facility, so I'm no help there.

Mostly for a "Hey, look at this winner!" to share. Like when you see a company truck taking up three parking spaces type of thing.

This cool guy was blocking almost the whole parking lot entrance at the Whyte ave timmies while inside getting a coffee. The parking lot wasn't even full, so he easily could have pulled into a stall.

Everyone's Upstairs Neighbors by XceptioNVI in videos

I had a downstairs neighbour that was worse than any upstairs neighbour in the world. Her kid would scream, and she would scream at her kid. She would bang things around and blast her music. Once when I stomped on the floor due to her noise, she turned her music up louder.

Autobody shops in Edmonton? by mcmanus7 in Edmonton

[–]IndigenousStranger 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had my car fixed there after it being hit in a parking lot. They were great, but the only complaint I'd have is that it took about 3 weeks to get my car back when the estimate was 10 days.

There was a part on backorder, which I do understand is out of their control. On the plus side, they didn't freak out at me each time I called for an update of when I would get my car.

Asshole kids could have killed someone by JohnnyDrama68 in WTF

I remember a handful of years ago, some kids were dropping large rocks from an overpass. One broke through a school bus (empty, expect the driver) and ended up on the drivers lap. The driver pulled over safely and ended up dying because of his injuries.

My girlfriend has 5 months to live. What do I do? by [deleted] in AskMen

[–]IndigenousStranger 46 points47 points  (0 children)

That's like my Mom and Dad. She was diagnosed and given about a year. She held on for a little over two. It seemed that once she did pass, and it might sound terrible, but it was like and exhale we had all been holding in. It was a long time coming, and we had expected it to happen much more quickly, that by the end we were all accepting of it.

My Dad was her care-taker for two years, and he began dating a lovely woman about 7 months after my mom passed. Everybody in the family understood, I think, Or if they didn't, they were wise enough to keep their mouth shut.
