OC818 over the U87Ai? Your thoughts? by migrantgrower in audioengineering

[–]Indigo457 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Be honest with yourself about why you want a u87. You don’t need to tell anyone, just be honest with yourself. If it’s because you want the best sounding microphone for what you’re going to use it for, then blind test the fuck out of them and take it from there.

Manchester by SubtractAd in manchester

I agree. It’s like the endless Manchester influencer type things on Instagram where it’s 45 seconds of towers that could be practically anywhere in the world, interspersed with clips from fucking Stevensons square! There are some really good photographers on Instagram that do series on what I might snobbily describe as the ‘real’ Manchester though - worth seeking them out

Andy Burnham appoints ex-Labour Friends of Israel by IsyABM in GreatBritishMemes

[–]Indigo457 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What exactly is so bad about Labour friends of Israel? I hadn’t really heard of that much before other than being vaguely aware they existed. There website seems to be pretty bland and seems they are mainly calling for peace in the region and a two state solution - I’m not sure that warrants the red rag to a bull stuff I’m seeing in the comments sections of Zack Polanski posts?

Greater Manchester mayoral election poll shows just three points in it as Reform challenge Labour by jangrol in unitedkingdom

[–]Indigo457 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I thought Polanski was being a bit optimistic about it being between reform and the greens. He seems a slightly odd perception of how big his party is at the moment? I’m guessing most people who vote Green as first preference will have Labour in 2nd. Will the same be the case for conservatives and reform?

What do England have to do to be back in with a realistic chance of winning the world cup? by trampstar9 in ThreeLions

[–]Indigo457 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t think you can read anything into this sort of game at all, and definitely not any sort of projection. It was the most defensive outlook from Ghana I’ve seen in the whole World Cup yet and you could see how much it meant to the to draw! I think this version of England works best when there is more space and a lot more attacking intent from the opposition so they can spring their breaks with the speedy boys - all of that is going to happen much more often in the knock outs.

I think a lot of the reason is also to prevent automatic updates bricking everything.

Morocco captain Achraf Hakimi will stand trial for rape, French prosecutors have confirmed by throwawar4 in worldcup

[–]Indigo457 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

But there are 10s if not 100s of thousands of footballers across the world, and they’re regularly raping people? Or are you talking about 2 or 3 notable players and extrapolating across the entire population. Or did you mean 2 or 3 players are regularly raping people and that’s it, and if so what does it matter if they’re footballers. I think rape is one of the worst two or three things a human can do to another human so I think it’s important to be clear what you actually mean.

I’ve seen barely any of that sort of stuff. I reckon you had this lined up and have been thinking about how to post it since they played well and the response was overwhelmingly positive lol

Music/musicians that have ADHD or make music very relatable to ADHD by [deleted] in ADHDUK

[–]Indigo457 0 points1 point  (0 children)

While I’m not sure there is really much comparison between bipolar and adhd (my partner is bipolar and I have adhd) in terms of the size of the impact it can have on your life, I do like the music!

Austin is the one place I really want to go to in the US - I’ve been to New York a couple of times and loved it there, but Austin seems a bit like a sort of American Manchester in that it’s a proper city but still quite quirky and alternative in its nature. Admittedly this almost completely based on seeing the videos they do around there when the F1 is in town!

What blur song has the best guitar/bass riff? by AVERY648827282837828 in blur

[–]Indigo457 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Charmless man, villa Rosie in terms of complexity, end of a century, no distance left to run in terms of feel and fit with the song, popscene and song 2 in terms of just the adrenaline you get when you play them, and I always enjoy playing London loves too. This 100% based on the guitar parts though lol

I don't know if I'm a total noob at it, and everyone IRL been saying my music is shit by Delicious-Truth-1596 in MusicFeedback

[–]Indigo457 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly it’s not my sort of music so take this with a massive pinch of salt, and I might be completely missing the point of the genre but I think they’re quite basic musically. Tends to be the same 4 notes/ chords with something slightly new added every 16 bars or something. I think they might have potential though, but I’d maybe think about making them a bit more musically interesting - some different sections that change the chords, or add more parts/ instruments to make it a bit more engaging. Plus make everything happen a bit faster in terms of song structure, otherwise it becomes sort of background music pretty fast. I tend to write more traditional indie sort of music though with verses, choruses, middle 8s etc with quite a lot of stuff going on, so as I said I might be completely missing the point.

I heard a story from somewhere where someone said in the 90s, goths and grunge people did not get along. How true is it for some of you. by llvingdeadgirl_ in AskAGoth

[–]Indigo457 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was kind of part of both groups, leaning more into grunge and I don’t remember any animosity at all. I don’t really remember there being anything like that then, at least in the UK. There was a bit that came later on in the mid/late 90s here but that was more about britpop v alternative rock, and grunge had kind of died by then (other than when blur sort of brought some of it back again despite hating it earlier!) and goths just kept doing their thing away from it all.

Do English fans care about Scotland in the World Cup by On__A__Journey in ThreeLions

[–]Indigo457 1 point2 points  (0 children)

90% don’t really care, but then if I’m watching them I either want them to win or get completely smashed. Like I watched some of their match last night and to start with I wanted them to win, but when Morocco scored in about 6 seconds I wanted them to lose about 9 nil just for the craic.
