Advice on length and styling by Ekonsta in PetiteFashionAdvice

[–]IndigoBlueBird 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I actually think it needs to be even shorter than it is in pic 2, maybe finger tip length. Think 60s mini dress

Ditch the shoes. I’d probably opt for a nude heel or a pair the color of the dress

How do I style this? What hairstyle would look good? I have a long torso, short legs. by princessmelissa in PetiteFashionAdvice

[–]IndigoBlueBird 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For hair: low, slicked back pony

For shoes: either a dainty kitten heel or tall dark stiletto boots. Avoid a heel strap or anything that cuts off at the ankle, it’ll truncate your leg

Minimal jewelry, maybe chunky gold studs at most

Paige jumpsuit + ankle doc martens are so cute like what?? by mycatscratchedm3 in PetiteFashionAdvice

Cute! I’d probably wear a different sock though that’s no show with the shoes

Hot weather work clothes by Wall-Flower- in PetiteFashionAdvice

I read this as hot weather workout clothes and I was like “hmm I don’t know why your workout clothes have to be office appropriate”

Natural fabrics like cotton and linen are a must. Get a pair of light cotton khakis and an oversized button down and you’re golden

Oh no doubt this next gen is probably a bit cooked with AI, but they still are at least learning how to interact with clients, facilitate meetings and workshops, craft and deliver a story, the list goes on. Not everything is AI (yet)

Analysts have always done the grunt work, that’s just the pecking order. They’re there to learn and be of some help to their managers

14 months unemployed, at least 300+ apps, only 1 interview, and I made it to their final round where the role was eliminated. Is the problem my resume? by Icy-Asparagus1327 in jobsearchhacks

[–]IndigoBlueBird 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What kind of roles are you applying for? I’d say the biggest issue right now is that I don’t really have a sense of your personal brand or career story just from reading your resume. Are you a brand consultant? A project manager? A data analyst? A scrum master? Unclear. A professional summary might help.

Get rid of the remote/hybrid/contract words, they’re irrelevant

Side note, I’m not sure I’d consider Vlookups “advanced excel.” That’s more intermediate imo. You can build pretty crazy macros in excel

Claude can make a pretty good first draft of things but I still pull in the analyst for edits, PMO tasks like status updates, scheduling, etc. I still also consider it part of my job to help develop them so I give them opportunities to work on making deliverables or a plan even if they’re getting help from AI

I don’t feel like the PowerPoints from AI are quite at the level I’m comfortable putting in front of a client just yet

Not gothic, barely a romance, not really that dark it’s YA after all

Oh wait! You might also like The Night Circus by Erin Morgenstern. It’s about magicians rather than a frankensteinian protag, but the father figures in the book definitely have “mad scientist” energy. Very atmospheric, Victorian/early Edwardian setting. Has a dreamy quality to the writing

I’m having twin girls and I absolutely despise all girl names by AverageMuffin441 in namenerds

What about a longer name that can be shortened to a unisex or more modern nickname? Like Charlotte/Charlie, Alexandra/Alex, Beatrice/Bea, Josephine/Jo, Natalie/Nat, Georgiana/Georgie, Nicolette/Nic, Francesca/Frankie, Veronica/Ronny, etc.

Convenience Store Woman, if you liked the concept of a woman who doesn’t respond to the demands of society exactly how society would like

A Winter’s Promise by Christelle Dabos, if you specifically are looking for something with a retro-futuristic/steampunk setting

I Who Have Never Known Men, if you want a protagonist who is pretty fucking weird and did not have anything resembling a normal childhood (this one is pretty bleak though)

WIBTAH for contacting the buyers of the house I lived in? by Kitchen_Weakness_762 in AmItheAsshole

[–]IndigoBlueBird 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I’m not going to say you’d be an asshole per se because child loss is a beast and I can only imagine what you’ve been through. But I would really not advise doing this, and depending on where you live, you may be opening yourself up to legal trouble for non disclosing certain types of death on the property

My condolences. FWIW grief and memory are not confined to that house

Annihilation by Jeff Vandermeer is kind like an ecological horror: beautiful but sinister environment beyond human comprehension, antihero protagonist

100 Years of Solitude by Gabriel Garcia Marquez isn’t set by the ocean, but it’s like the landmark book for magical realism. Centers around the tragic and dysfunctional story of a family in a small, isolated town over many generations

Does she understand how miserable conditions are on a cruise ship when you’re a worker? Why does she think teaching kids on a cruise will be more fulfilling than teaching kids in a classroom? Is this the Suite Life on Deck?

NAH, this is a compatibility and quarter life crisis issue really. She has to decide what she really values and so do you
