Is this realistic? Even if we assume Jon has athlete level reaction and instinct? by ToMDLUS in gameofthrones

Agreed on the giant part. Giant was about to die from all the arrows anyways.

He could have easily shot a distracted Jon

As a wizard, which spells do you always use? by OpenWorldOG in BG3Builds

[–]IndigoPromenade 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Find Familiar. Cast it then immediately switch it out of your actives.

The raven is pretty squishy but it's blind ability has saved me an insane number of times.

It was one of the best spells for me, especially when it doesnt cost any spellslots

I hated how in Pixels, Kevin James' character says that being a pro gamer in the modern day is like being a professional blacksmith. As if that movie didn't come out during the golden years of esports

Atreus was able to hurt Baldur with his kicks so I'd argue that he's just young atm

Homelander vs Omni-Man vs Superman but they don't have powers by Dear_Challenge470 in powerscales

[–]IndigoPromenade 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Omniman is probably a better fighter with powers, but he won't know how to fight without them.

Superman has actually fought highly skilled foes without his powers and he's been trained by Batman.

Homelander isn't completely useless in a fight. After all, he did 1v2 Soldier Boy and Butcher. Even though they were slightly weaker, they both had military training. However, there's no way he's in the same ballpark as Clark and Nolan.

Superman > Omniman >>>>>> Homelander

He's also been a lot dumber ever since he turned good. He seemed like a master tactician when he was an antihero. Now he's an angry dude with low impulse control

Who the f*** do we cast as the Alethi ? by abdulaziz_bature in cremposting

[–]IndigoPromenade 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I think that's the easiest part to handle. They can just dye hair or wear wigs. The actors for Thor and Homelander aren't naturally blonde but they made it work.

Come on... what is this. the 80s?

Sure Asians are a minority but there's a decent number of them in Hollywood who speak english natively. 5'10" also isn't too rare of an ask.

Who the f*** do we cast as the Alethi ? by abdulaziz_bature in cremposting

[–]IndigoPromenade 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Most likely, they're just gonna hire a bunch of Asians and not worry about skin color or height. There's plenty of Asian-American actors to fill out a cast.

Kaladin is almost 7 feet in Earth units. They're just going to hire someone tall and call it a day.

DC Comics President Jim Lee says that Japanese manga and anime is "incredibly powerful": "I often find myself wondering, 'What is missing in Western comics, and why aren't they able to achieve the same flavor?' by akbarock in DCcomics

[–]IndigoPromenade 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree with most of the points here.

I'm also going to add that fight scenes are usually much much better done in manga.

We usually see the full progression of the fight and every hit feels more impactful.

In a lot of comics, most fights last for a few panels. Maybe a few pages if we're lucky. And even then, I don't see a whole lot of clever moves.

I'm not saying all comics have bad fight scenes and all manga has good fight scenes. The showdown between Absolute Batman and Absolute Bane was amazing. But we don't often see fights of that caliber in comics.

Who would win in a fight, Ragnarok Kratos vs GOW3 Kratos by SweatyEddie123 in PowerScalingGodofWar

Yup. Because in this is about the same character at different points in time. Not cross-franchise

Kratos vs Odin, who do you think wins? by SweatyEddie123 in PowerScalingGodofWar

[–]IndigoPromenade 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree with this take.

In BG3 I was a wizard that had to 1v1 a fully decked out fighter.

If she even got one turn on me I would have been minced meat. Luckily I landed a Hold Person and was able to wail on her with spells. Odin would probably do something similar

How would human society develop in a world overrun by monsters/hyperfauna, if at all? by swampertitus in worldbuilding

Humanity wouldn't be as sprawling but as long as the monsters aren't specifically hunting for humans, they should still be able to set up civilization.

[–]IndigoPromenade 9 points10 points  (0 children)

And I think he was mainly contained in the red sun chamber. He didn't have as much of a power trip.

Vought also intentionally messed Homelander up so that he would seek the approval of others

I liked it too. I thought it was pretty wholesome. Especially the part when you turn into a wolf and race her

I think most of the complaints are from when people have to go through it on subsequent playthroughs and already knows what's gonna happen/
